04/03/09 - Mailed completed application w/ ELECTRONIC fingerprints to DOA
04/06/09 - Confirmed Delivered at DOA via USPS website tracking
04/23/09 - Money Order Cashed [day 19] <---my latest update

When I tell you that I sent a perfect application, I mean I SENT AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT APPLICATION! I must have scrubbed that thing about 10 x before I sealed the envelope. We're talking perfection on the electronic prints, electronic background check, all receipts, handwriting on the application, new passport photos; i added COMPLETE contact information on every document except for the Application and Electronic Fingerprint card. No expense or preparation step was spared.

And now my Money Order has cleared in 19 days; 19 days since it was confirmed to have been received.

I think this is positive progress and hope that there may be some changes that have been made at the DOA to influence this. Maybe my next milestone will occur sooner! Maybe all of us 'tortured waiters' will benefit!

Today was a good day to discover the completion of my milestone and to hear about all of the confirmed mailing receipts of the CWL's!

Haven't you noticed? Fee and Tax Collection have become a major priority since the last elections. Issuance of "paid for" permits and services, not so much!:rolf

Just teasing you, best luck in your process.:drinks

i believe i read on here, after the checks cashed, then the 90 starts? not sure, i think in 2006 mine only took like 40 days....they cashed my wifes on the 9th of april ...fingers crossed,,,
I think the 90 days is supposed to start when they receive a complete application- regardless of what they may claim. But since they're not meeting the statutory deadlines, it doesn't make a lot of difference. On the other hand, we're mostly seeing wait times in the 100 to 110 range, mailbox to mailbox, so they aren't missing it by too much.

It ONLY took 19 days for DOA to cash my money order!

So I called the DOA at 3:00pm Eastern and was on hold for 20 minutes. My goal of the call was to see if they had any updates in their system regarding the status of my application. I "knew" that my check had cleared and I was curious to know the information to which the phone rep had access. I was asked my ssn and she was not able to find anything. I advised that my check had cleared and she advised that the cashing of the check was the first step in the process (no new insight there!).

I then told her that "my friend told me about a 90 day automatic reissue process." She advised that "that was no longer in place due to the 90,000 applications that they received in January and that they were still processing January applications". That information / update / change in process can't be found anywhere on the State of FL website....no where...not even media updates display this.

I then asked her about the 30 day notification process regarding incomplete applications. She also advised that that was no longer in place due to the volumes.

I politely thanked her () for all of her assistance and advised that I would call back in a couple of months. She was pleasant and helpful throughout the call and it ended on a nice exchange of thank yous.

End result: I confirmed that the cashing of the check does not automatically translate that the application has progressed to a point where I can call and get a status on the application. It appears that the check clearing process is a pre-step that occurs prior to any entry of my application into the 'system that the phone reps use to provide status'.

I also sent a "test" email today to inquire about my status. I'll keep the forum posted with respect to ANY email activity from the DOA. L8rz!

This Is the second time I have heard about the suspension of the 90 days.

Nothing in the pres or the state's website and I don't think they can just change that. Sounds like another way of getting you off the phone and keeping you off the phone.
