That scream you heard earlier today was me. 110 days later I’m now the proud owner of a Florida Concealed Weapons License. Normally I would just hitch the gun on and go do my obligatory wallyworld walk but as you know I do NOT have a gun in which to hitch.

Ruger called me yesterday and informed me that my LCP would be ready to be retrofitted in 9 days then they would call me and let me know when it is on the way.

I can’t believe I finally have this license. I feel like you all should gather around and ooh and aah while I hand out chocolate to all the proud new uncles.

Y'all are so nice to me. I knew last Friday that my license was issued because I called them again but dared not jerk you all around by posting that info. I was not going to post until my license was in hand.

I do have a .38 but no holster because I've never considered it for my carry gun. I do love shooting that thing though. It would poke out a bit more so I'm not even going to try to hide it.

My dh has a Walther PPS and I've worn it around the house but am not sure I can conceal it outside. It is not the right holster for the clothes I wear (it's that girl thing) so I guess I'll just have to wait on the LCP. Str8Shooter that is mighty nice of you to offer but I'd be so very nervous carrying a gun that wasn't mine. Besides, that is what dear hubby is for...so I can go raid his closet and take what I want. Isn't that the way it works at your house?

Well, I hope that in all your lurking that you've learned from me that no question is dumb. These guys here will have an answer to basically any question you ask. I've thrown all my ignorance of guns out there for the world to see so I'm not hesitant to ask any questions.

We all learn by asking so I figured I'd be the queen of questions. I'm quite certain their eyes roll but I learn too much to quit asking my sometimes 'anyone should know that' type of question.

Mickstix,

Thank you for taking the time to plod through my sob story. As we've had more and more join our little, now growing, group we get the idea that Tallahassee is swamped. There are many here who could echo my story. I suppose mine stood out because our little site was new and we were all getting to know each other.

The good news is the gridlock has not stopped the issuing of licenses.
