Went into garage at 6am today to leave for work (I actually park my car in the garage). I had my 9mm bersa in my right hand. My habit in the AM is to open the door with my left had and lock pistol in glove box during workday since job takes me to schools and fed and local gov't buildings. Pistol was in right (strong side) hand with one in the pipe. Garage was very dimly lit as I entered and opened automatic door. I saw a red dot flash around and land on my chest. Two highschool kids across the street were laughing as they walked to the bustop. Glad I didn't over react but my heart is still pounding.

I've been "painted" with a laser on a few occasions by stupid people:

I had walked out of an IHOP at 1:30-2:00 am one morning and got in my caddy to leave. As I was starting the car, a laser flashed across my eyes from my left through my drivers window. I looked around and saw where it was coming from was a car across the lot being used by the driver who was parked in the shadows. Made me nervous as hell it was on a gun being point at me. The driver was sweeping other people besides myself with the laser beam in the lot while backed up against the curbing, the car facing into the lot.

I drove around the lot and blocked their exit with the caddy, my headlights on high beam blinding them and jumped out, gun drawn and placed at my leg, staying hidden behind the lights of my vehicle and moved quickly to the back of my car, identfying myself as a police officer, for the driver to exit the vehicle.

After he got out, I ordered him to keep his hands where I could see them and advance to the front of my car [ just about 10 feet ]. Ordered him to put his hands on the hood of the caddy and not move. Ordered the passenger out next and to join his buddy on the hood in the same position.

Called dispatch on the radio and told them I needed assistance at the IHOP at the northewest corner of the lot and had two suspects out at that time. Two cruisers were dispatched and arrived post haste to the call. No other occupants in their car, they were searched for weapons, nothing on them.

Found a 9mm semi auto under the drivers seat with a cheap screw on laser attached to the trigger guard. Wants and warrants run on both of them, the driver had an outstanding warrant and was placed in one of the cruisers under arrest.

He was muzzling people in the lot with that semi auto and laser and though I don't believe his intention was to shoot anyone, he got caught being stupid and didn't get to go home that night with his homie.

I took a school teachers laser pointer away from a young boy about 12 yrs old once. He was being stupid with it at the entrance on the sidewalk as I pulled into a convenience store. He had stolen it from his teachers desk the day before. He was taken into custody after I had a cruiser dispatched, the parents called to come pick him up at the station.

Being painted with a laser is not a good thing. They can blind/injure your eyes in no time. I don't take lasers lightly, they could be attached to weapons.

The rule at our house is that we don't shoot people or pets. (The people rule is limited to our family members, not some BGs should the need arise.)

There have been times I've wanted to drop kick our 8.5yo 15lb. Bengal kitty to the nearest planet but he's been around so long I have to change my mind about calling the taxidermist on him.

Mamabear,

Here's a few pics of our Bengal when he was a kitten for your viewing pleasure. He's now just 1 yr old this month and 14.5 pounds.

My dog is either too smart or too dumb to chase a laser. I haven't decided which she is yet.
same here, unless that laser was tied to a dog snack :rolf

I've never had the "pleasure" of being painted with a laser, but I have been in a theater where some twit decides to flash a laser all over the screen during the flick.

One of these days, I'm going to catch one of those little twerps and shove that laser someplace unpleasant.

Sideways.

It appears to me that there are two little twerps who are going to learn a valuable lesson one day if they keep that : censored up.

And they may not exactly like what that lesson is gonna teach them either.
