I know that the G27 is some what versatile by switching out the barrels. If I am right I can change the barrels and shoot the 9mm and I believe the .357.

How does the .357 cali work on the G27? Thanks

The only .357SIG I've shot was a SIG P239. Much heavier than a G27, and it was brutal. Not something I would personally consider in a G27, but that's just me.

While we're at it....if you decide to get a 9mm barrel, make sure it's a conversion barrel. Don't just drop in a G26 barrel.

Love my G27s but don't carry it much any more.

Lone Wolf conversion barrel:
http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=1003

KKM and Storm Lake also make G27 9mm conversion barrels.

Hey JT. Thanks for the post. I just want to be clear here: It says:

"Can be used in factory ported or stock pistols. Intended for use in the Glock 27 ,33. We do recommend you use the correct 9mm magazine with these conversion barrels to guarantee reliable feeding." Then the next sentence says " Use G26 9mm mag for G27 and G33 conversion."

So I know I can use 9mm but it mentions G33 (I believe the .357 cal) would I be able to shoot the .357 out of my G27 or can it be done? Thanks

Just curious.... but why go to the expense of stocking several different ammos? With the current political uncertainty, I went the other way; I sold off every pistol I owned except for 9mm, and every rifle other than .223.

My reasoning is that 9mm and .223 are probably the most available as well as least expensive ammunition that is still viable for self defense. Now before a bunch of you flame me about any ammo the doesn't begin with a "4" being too small to effectively penetrate, I challenge anyone to take a half dozen 9mm defense rounds (or FMJ target for that matter) COM, and tell me that they didn't feel a thing!

By "stocking" just 2 different size rounds (OK, I admit to 12 Ga, .22LR and .22Mag is in the mix as well) I am able to keep a LOT of ammo handy, stored in Mil Surplus .50 cal ammo boxes. In a SHTF scenario, grabbing a box or two and a BOB, is all I need think about. Everything fits in whichever gun I grab.

Like others here, I have given thought to SHTF caches placed away from, but in close proximity to my property. But for purely economic reasons, I can't afford to include weapons in them. I like knowing the cache will have ammo for any weapon in my collection I do manage to get away with.

I was just truly wondering if my g27 could shoot a .357 caliber with some type of set up. I know it could use the 9mm with a converstion barrel. I personaly would never judge you on what you like to carry or use: "Now before a bunch of you flame me about any ammo the doesn't begin with a "4" being too small to effectively penetrate"- I would never flamme as I am still learning.

My instructor told me also that a .380 +p can do some serious damge when it first penatrates the BG body. He was a big fan of it. Plus he said with those bigger calibers it will go right through a B.G and someone standing innocently behind him also. THe .357 mag he let me shoot I can see why. I know the .357 mag ammor is different thatn the .357 sig.

I guess I made the post to see what option I could do with a G27 is all.

Yeah I know... and sorry for the sort-of-hijack.....

FWIW, I carry a NAA .22Mag quite a bit... A small gun in the pocket beats a big one in the safe any day!:drinks

A Glock 27 can be converted to .357 Sig with a barrel replacement only.

Drop a Glock 33 or aftermarket barrel in and off you go. You can use the same G27 magazines.

I guess I was mistaken. I talked to the gun shop today and I was under the impression I could shoot 9mm out the G27 by either the barrel switch or the mag change. Is that wrong?

Anyway, to answer the other question I won't buy the several different ammos but I just like the G27 being versitale like that. But I still shoot the 40 cal and stock up on that for right now.

To shoot 9mm from a G27, you'll need both a conversion barrel and 9mm magazines.

To shoot .357 Sig, all you need is a barrel swap.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank YOU! I'm being serious here. I have been trying religiously to get that question answered. I almost thought I had it right then thought I had it wrong because of someone elses answer that was not right. My mind was going nuts.

I just hope your 100% acccurate which I think you are. Thanks again.
