After reading the wait times on here, I'm hoping for at least a Christmas present. I just mailed my application on 3/19/09 and being out of state used the old fashioned fingerprint method so it will be interesting to see how long it takes. Hopefully planning for a Christmas present isn't too optimistic, even with this huge backlog. like a real dummy, I didn't send it Certified/return receipt requested, just regular mail.

Welcome to the forum, FL residents don't get priority over out of state applicants. I would expect it to be between 90-105 days. Just my guess.
The ink prints don't make any difference in processing times. Back before the backlog, they did, but lately does seem to matter.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I just assumed Florida residents would have priority. It seems this backlog situation is happening all around the country.
Here in Alabama CCLs are issued by the county sheriff in the county in which you live. I spoke to our local sheriff last week and they are now 5-6 weeks behind their normal time and that's just local applicants as unfortunately, Alabama will not issue non resident permits.

License renewals have priority, not first time applicants
