I have a quick question about holsters and belts. When I'm not working I wear jeans or jean shorts without belts. When I work I wear a tucked in shirt and a belt. I would like to give the super tuck from crossbreed a try since i can use it tucked in or not but do i need to have a belt? at work would be no problem since i have a belt on but after work or on the weekends i dont wear one.

I am open for other options as well.

If you want your britches to look all "gangsta" style then leave the belt off. :aarg Seriously though, I personally want to support that 19 oz. of force to be at my side if I have to reach for it.

Or a "fanny pack". As lame as it sounds I use one occansioanlly just for the simple fact that there are times when I don't feel like carrying IWB - wearing light shorts and a shirt, workout clothes, etc. I have a Tommy's Gun Pack and I like it for that although I wouldn't do it every day. I have one of the large ones and I can carry my G1 (phone), wallet and keys along with my Glock 26 with plenty of room to spare. My wife and my band mates call it my "murse" - i.e. "man purse". I am manly enough to deal with it though. YMMV ;)

When I wear my jeans I am too lazy to put on a belt. That and I've gaind a little so my pants are already tight. In fact I may need to get a few extra pants since i see that i may need a size bigger when wearing a holster. However, if it has better support for the gun and helps out i can get used to wearing one.

Quit being lazy; wear a belt, bro. Even IF you found a holster that wouldn't come off when you draw, it'll flop around like so much excess baggage.

Either that, or go with a SmartCarry or waist pack.

If you want to carry a weapon, get the equipment you need to do it properly. :drinks

I use a Supertuck for EDC and IDPA. You're probably going to want a belt, and ideally, a gun belt.

I used an off-the-shelf belt with my Supertuck for a while, and it worked okay. I got a gun belt from Crossbreed and it's so much better, supporting the weight of the gun much more effectively, as well as pulling it tighter to the body to aid in concealment.

Great holster with great service.

How many sizes bigger did you get the belt? From what i see on their web site it says to add 2 inches if you dont currently wear a belt. Ive also heard a person might need to get a size or two bigger pants size. So if I am a 36 I should get a 38 pants and belt?

With the belt, follow the directions given for size on the manufacturer's Web site. Follow them carefully, as some will charge you a restocking fee or something similar should you have to return the belt and order another because you goofed up the measurement.

As for pants, the problem I see with them is that there is a lot of variation for sizes it seems. A size 36 in one brand may not fit like a size 36 from another. For me, some of my pants got a bit snug with my IWB holster, and others were perfectly fine. Bit of a crap shoot, really.

Half of my pants are now "34x32-GUN" the other, my regular 32x32. It seems to work out pretty good going two sizes up on the pants. You do realize the variance in pants sizes a whole lot more when you're stuffing a gun into them.
As far as carrying without a belt, I use my NRA "Belly Band" just about every night for that when it's pajama time.

I'll bet you are going to need a bonafide gun belt for that Supertuck. If I didn't wear a belt, I would constantly be tripping over my pants down around my ankles. The public really doesn't need that picture.

I found that going up one inch in the waist size of my pants took care of wearing an IWB holster. However, there was a drawback to going up in the waist size. You could fit a half grown hog inside the seat along with my butt.

What handgun are you trying to conceal with that Supertuck?

I carry a g27 in a comtac holster and wear a little bear gun belt. With out a gun belt the weight of the gun would pull down my jeans. A good quality gun belt makes all the difference.

You ain't kidding, E. A proper gun belt makes all the difference.

I'd rather carry a cheap holster on a proper belt than the other way around!

Mom doing good?

Looks like a good CC holster...

I hate carrying a loaded Glock inside my pants and thinking about having to buy a larger pant waist size (my waist is large enough, DOH!:D)...I can live with just buying another gun belt two sizes larger. Does anyone use a IWB clip on outside the pant and between the pants and belt?

I agree. There is an opportunity cost for everything. If I carry I dress accordingly.
