Be careful to dismiss. These debates go sideways quick and should be monitored. Vigilance is the keyword and be ready to act accordingly.

Make sure your voice is heard. Representatives should be inundated with phone, email, text, etc. It is every American's RESPONSIBILITY to stay in touch with YOUR Representative. THAT, is our system.

A Dem sponsored initiative in the House. It would create a national licensing sytem for firearms and impose a 30% or 50% tax on sales (have seen both in articles on the bill but couldn’t locate it in the text). I don’t think it has a snowball’s chance of passing, but does illustrate the need for eternal vigilence. The enemy has not given up.

Will never happen.
All those MILLIONS of new gun owners want to spend their money on ammo, not registration & licensing fees.

The anti-gunners have lost (to Coronavirus, of all things.) Go figure.

This bill is now an amendment to the small business aid bill by Sumerclown and is holding up the bill, in addition to their funding of all their pet pork amendment's.

why won't happen? i'm pretty sure it will
A better question is why are you so sure it will?

That said, welcome to FCC from Palm Beach County, Witilen! :wave

Since you've now made you first post to FCC, without an introduction, please take the time to post you're own Introduction to FCC so the members will get to know you. You can do that by going to the Introduce Yourself section of The Front Office and start your very own introduction thread. Then you'll find that lots of other FCC members will know to chime in to properly welcome you to the forum, and will be more responsive in answering questions! Also, if you're a veteran, take a look at our Military Service Thread where you'll find many of us there, too!

In case you weren't aware, you can stay current on pertinent Florida Statutes regarding use of force and firearms law by going right to the source using these links for Chapter 776 - Justifiable Use of Force and Chapter 790 - Weapons and Firearms. I'd also like to suggest you obtain your own copy of FLORIDA FIREARMS Law, Use & Ownership by Jon Gutmacher!

Finally, I would like to recommend you consider joining Florida Carry and join the effort to protect the rights of Floridians to keep and bear arms!

Again, welcome to FCC!

I think you are right about that, especially if the Dems take over the Senate and keep the House. I don't see that happening right now, but if our national situation continues to deteriorate, there's no telling what might happen after November if Biden gets elected and tries to implement all the policy initiatives he's endorsed.
