What are the rules when attending gun shows?.. Can you carry into the show?. Can you carry loaded?.

Just wondering, there is a show in Jacksonville today, at the Fairgrounds was thinking of going.

Check in at door, empty mag and zip tie action yesterday at Charlotte County’s little gun show.

Bought me a Bersa thunder .380
I know it is a controversial gun and caliber- but I just love the feel of this little pistol!
It’s a love thing

Back

Just got back from gun show (Southern Classic), man so many guns and so many people.. Here in Jacksonville.

Yesterday over 5,000 attended and today looked to be that many or more. A lot of women buying this year, with their husbands.

Some people were buying ammo and carting it out on hand trucks..

I have their card with their schedule for this year, next stop is Orlando, Jan 3-4.

:)

A friend and I went to the Jacksonville gun show Saturday and were thoroughly disappointed. The vendors were really proud of their stuff judging by the prices on guns and ammo. Heck, we didn't even buy any jerky! We left the show and went to Shooters of Jacksonville. I bought a Rock Island 1911 and he bought a Saiga 7.62 rifle (similar to the AK-47). Both prices were well under the sticker and way below the gun show vendor's.

I went to the show in Jax on Saturday and bought 500 rounds of .223 and 5k primers, in preparation for the invasion of Obama vampire zombie U.N. troops (hey, ya never know ;)). My son-in-law bought a Springfield Armory GI 1911 for $519 and my daughter bought a stun gun, a wrist rocket and some beef jerky. :laughing

Definitely the most crowded gun show I've ever attended.

Yeah, I hear you about the crowds. The one I went to at the end of November was teeming. Loads of people snapping up tons of pistols and the like, and forget about ammo. That stuff was all gone on day one.

I really want to go to the one next week, but I'm dealing with the post-Christmas blues, meaning I'm broke. :laughing

I bought 1700 rounds of ammo from GA Arms at the Jax show, and that took over an hour! Didn't even bother to look at anything else.

Let's see they don't support my right to carry,:thumbsdwn
It's crowded,:thumbsdwn
and sounds to me that the "deals" are rare.:thumbsdwn
Think I'll just support my local gun store.:thumsup

+1 on that.
It doesn't make any sense to ban legal carry at a GUN SHOW.
Me no carry, me no go.
Kind of like PIZZA HUT. Pizza Hut doesn't want employees to survive a hold-up attempt, fires delivery guy for being armed and shooting a robber, soooo, since they don't like guns, I don't like Pizza Hut pizza's. I eat PAPA JOHNS now!!!!!!!!

Two things kinda bothered me at the Jax show this weekend. First, as I approached the gate there was an area in front where people could mill around, sit, etc. It was like show and tell day there--all kinds of guns out in the open. One wouldn't know if they just purchased from inside, brought guns to trade, or what. The other was the number of teens inside (wearing their pants around their knees) checking out the knives and other non-gun weaponry. Ordinarily, #2 wouldn't bother me too much because kids will be kids. However, I wonder how many of those knives will get used on someone else. I dunno. Maybe I was just irritated because it was so crowded and I figured they were taking up my space....

Oh come on now, when you were a teen you'd have been like a kid in a candy store with all the knives, blow guns, wrist rockets, etc. that we experienced shooters now just yawn over. What irritates me is the gimps in their Larks blocking the aisles. :laughing

No kidding.

I seriously thought about lark-jacking one of them to cart all that ammo back out to the truck! :D

I took my son to a gun show in West Palm Beach and he was definitely amazed at all the knife vendors. I bought him 2 knives. (he collects them). As for me, I was the kid in a candy store. I only left with the Jon H. Gutmacher Florida Firearms Law, Use & ownership book. I would rather give my business to my local dealer for a few bucks more, but one can get a good idea of whats out there in terms of different firearms and gear.

Hawkins - How was the show in Charlotte County? Any good deals and did they have a ccw class? Was there a lot of selection? Just wondering, I would like to go to the next one if it is worth it. Do ya happen to know when the next show is, I was looking on some sites that list florida gun shows and none of them said anything about the Charlotte County show.

Next show coming to Panama City on January 10 - 11. Bay County Fairgrounds. Says Saturday 9 - 5 and Sunday 10 - 4 with a $7 fee. Unless the schedule changes of course.

I am very much looking forward to going and looking and coming out to buy later at a local store like most here.
