Went down today and glad I did. Steady stream of people but not at all crowded like it has been. I could actually walk freely, get up to the tables and get the vendors attention. Even Georgia Arms was easy to get into and out of, less than 10 minutes in line not 30 or more. Maybe the panic is subsiding.

I found it better, too. Quite a crowd, but not a total crush like it has been.

I scored 2 pounds of Bullseye powder at a reasonable price ($21/lb), but primers were out of sight. They were being offered at $45/1000. I hope the : censored price gougers end up eating them.

Came today as well. I agree there wasn't a lot of people unlike before. But folks are saying it might be because everybody was at the beach for the holiday and tomorrow might be busier.

Bought some stuff to stimulate the economy. Got good deals too: Gutmacher's book for $20, 2 50 rd. bags of .38special from Georgia Arms for $13 each, an MTC ammo can for $14, and a cheapo S&W knife for $13. Oh, and I joined the NRA for $10 off regular membership, got a free NRA cap and got in for free dodging the line as well!

Not bad, huh?

Edit: Red Dawg, I didn't see any 380 at a good price. I think Georgia Arms was out. Dunno about tomorrow. There was a guy selling it from the back of his truck (it said Black Hills on the label) but I didn't ask him though, just said howdy.

Did Georgia Arms have a full compliment of calibers??
(IE: .45acp, .223, .308. etc. )

Are gun shows family oriented? I have never been to one personally but there is one coming up Aug 1 in Green Cove Springs and my wife and I would like to go but we have a 2 year old. Would we be out of place if we brought him or should we be looking for a sitter?

Many people bring their children to the gunshows. Personally though, if you can get a sitter for the child that might be best.

If you are looking for something in particular, you would have one less distraction ( watching the child, making sure it is safe ). Your child may become bored, which may cause you to cut off the time you have to find what you are looking for.

Depends on the show. I've been to a few that had stuff for kids to do and see, and I've been to some that I didn't want to be in..Location makes a difference. Big arena leaves more room for all sorts of vendors...Hope that helps.

I have a 15 month old and personally, I wouldn't take him. The crowds alone make it difficult. Heck, I can hardly move through myself, much less carry a child with me. Strollers are out of the question. Add to that diaper changes, temper tamtrums, etc. Just not worth it. Maybe when he's 4 we'll start taking him with us.

Didn't really look that hard though I did see .223 and .308. I wanted and got 9mm in canned heat, my PPS likes it fine.

Gun shows suck now. Lets see, overpriced, crowded, $7 for parking $8 to get in and no savings????? Waste of time anymore IMO.
Orlando Gun Show July 4th: Free parking, $9 entrance fee, not crowded, actually some fair deals available. That's okay, people not showing up makes it that less crowded.:)
