Uechi,

Thanks for sharing the link. Much of the information within the article had been discussed right here on FCC.

Absolutely correct Brownie and most of it from you. I just believe repetition of tactical concepts helps reinforce them in your mind just like firearm drills do for your senses.

I don't believe the Weaver stance is necessarily the best stance in a high stress situation unless you've practiced until its "muscle memory ".

I'm off to work the retail gun shop shortly and though I don't live in Sedona like the article mentioned in Az [ that's about 2 hours north of me ], I'm open carrying my gunfighter rig with the G17 and two spare mags on the opposite side which he observed the store owner doing in the article :)

Is it a tactical disadvantage as he suggests? In his scenario it would appear he believes so yet I've seen where this rig and g17 openly carried kept three bangers from testing the waters in the shop by it's mere presence and my attitude with them about their intentions while my hand was an inch from the gun in a relaxed manner [ situational awareness was one of the deciding factors in getting them to understand my resolve if they decided to get froggy ].

As you are well aware this is and old argument that will never be resolved. I believe sometimes open carry is and advantage sometimes it is not. There have been loads of argurments about concealed carry versus open carry on many forums. There is no easy answer when the scenarios are infinite.

Uechi,

Anytime you see something like this please post it. While it may have been discussed here in the past we all know this board moves quickly and topics get buried in a hurry. We have new folks joining us daily so seeing something like this will be fresh and new to them especially if they don't go back through the archives.

I can't always keep the training and tactics current in my mind so repetition is a wonderful thing. I tell my kids that often, in Latin, of course. :D

It's not the spiked dog collar that let's people know they're dealing with a dangerous Dawg, it's the demeanor of the Dawg. :D
