I discovered a gun store/range yesterday called "the 911store" in Hollywood, FL. Really friendly, knowledgeable staff. I went in kinda pricing a xd9 subcompact, and they let me fire a Glock 19. The glock is really nice. I would like to know if either gun has an advantage over the other. I have fired both, and they both feel good.

They are both great guns, so you should go with which ever you feel more confortable. I have the XD40SC and is really nice i have been looking at the G19 because i want 9mm for my wife (you know so that i can use it to) but the grip on the glock for me it doesnt feel right in my hand so i will try both and see wich one i can shoot better and wich one fits you hand better. The price on both guns is around the same maybe a couple of dollars diference. But i have seen them at the same price.

I bought a G19 even though the grip didn't feel "perfect" to me, but after a few rounds it felt just fine. I LOVE the trigger feel of the glock, but not long ago my gun shop let me shoot a XD9 V-10 ported and i loved the way it shot. It was the same price as what i paid for my G19, and after i shot it, i wish i would have bought that V-10 instead of the glock, but only because of the ported barrel. I liked the reduced "pop up" of the V-10. And on the one i shot the trigger was identical to the G19, it is the same size, seemed like the same weight and everything. The guns seem identical.

I do like guns other then Taurus any ways I'm on my phone takin abit to type the G26 they were charging $599.00 so if your looking at G19 hope you have the money to spend cause its goin cost. I can only imagine what XDs are goin to be priced at.

One of my local gun shops has them between 520 and 550. The G26, XD9SC, G27 and XD40SC with regular sights they are 525 each. i have seen them at the Gun Show for as low as 489

We've held the prices on the glocks at 499.95 for two years now. The supply line is thin at best momentarily, haven't been able to get a G17, G19 or G26 into the shop in a month.

Boss says the next time they come in, they'll likely go to 529.95. If our prices go up, it's due to the price increase from the distributors.

I'll usually check Buds Gun Shop before I purchase or just comparing prices. They seem to be one of the lowest on the internet. Gives me a good feel for what guns are going for at the time..Most Glocks are going for 530-600 nowadays. The G-26 is in the upper 500 bracket. I've seen XD's gonig for over 600. AR's are over 1000...$300 AK's are going for $600..Supply and demand folks..Not a whole lot different than gas and brass...

Both Guns are good and reliable.

SA pros: Lifetime Warranty on the SA XD, and added grip safety. IMO, Better grip then the Glock
Cons: I cant think of any

Glock pros: aftermarket parts are easier to find, everyone has one
Cons - I heard that Glock does not recommend shooting lead bullets through them

IF you were looking at the 9sc but like the feel of the Glock, why not look at the 26? It's nearly identical in spec to the 9sc, except that it's a hair longer than the XD in the slide, but a hair shorter on the grip. It also weighs as much loaded as the XD does unloaded. I went with the XD for the grip safety(ccw) and the lack of the finger grooves on the front of the grip.

I got my 9sc from ShootStraight. They're tagged a $599. Quite pricey, but I got a few bucks knocked off. I still feel like I was taken for a bit.
