Years ago, I carried a 2nd Generation G17 on Patrol, then a 2nd Gen. G19 when I worked Narcotics. The previous problem of the 1st Gen Glocks not completely dropping an empty mag during reload had supposedly been corrected. After literally thousands of rounds through my old G17 and G19, I never experienced a Glock magazine failing to fully fall when the mag release was pressed after firing empty. Now, with a new G19 that is only a few months old, my empty mag's are sticking just like the old 1st Gen. Glocks did. Has something changed? What mod's, if any, can I do to make my mag's fall free like a steel mag when I fire empty? Not only is the act of stripping mag's with my weak hand killing my time at IDPA matches, I'm way more worried about what this could result in in a SD situation. ANY help would be appreciated.

Beers y'all,
Ken

If both the mags and the gun are new, Hodawg, check to see if there is any polymer flashing in the mag well, on the magazines, or around the mag release.

I've bought three Glocks in the last year or so, and one of them had some flashing in the magwell.

If it's a new gun perhaps the mag release spring is stiff and you're not depressing it fully.

Back in the old days when all there was were the NFML (Non-Full Metal Lined) or so-called "non drop-free" magazines, we used to wipe them down with Armor All to get them to drop out.
