And it really sucks. I used to pass by there every day on my way to work when I used to work or Fedex Ground.Including future sales from admissions.
Not anymore, I guess.

Just curious... did they refund your ticket money? I would have insisted on it. And I would have advised them I'd be filing suit against the park for property damage. Did they have any disclaimer signs posted (ie. "All property subject to search and we are not responsible for any damage that occurs as a result")?I went there last year and they were wanting then. I anticipated it and as such left my hardware in the car. What pissed me off was their treatment of my camera gear. They were extremely7 careless taking gear out of the bag almost dropping one of my bodies. I tried to complain to management once inside and they literally said that they "could do nothing" and if I didn't like it we could leave...so I did. Never to return! I won't share my money with idiots.
Right up to the point where the establishment shuts down because no one attends it anymore due to their crazy policies. Honestly, I really don't need to go to any of these places anymore. I'm more than happy to stay clear of them.is anyone really surprised that this is happening?...it seems mass shootings have become a part of life and many people are scared they are going to become a victim...nobody knows who the good guys and bad guys are so the only way they know how to prevent is to do what they can to try to stop any guns at the gate...you can bloviate about your rights and not go to these places all you want...the simple facts are this makes people feel safer...regardless whether it actually makes them safer or not...get used to it...there is enough campaigning around protecting the public by limiting gun availability to keep it going for a very long time...
Emptying the bag yourself won't help, because they'll take individual items and inspect them directly. And I'd be very surprised they'd let you touch the bag or anything in it while it is under inspection. This, as someone could hide/conceal something via slight of hand while emptying.as far as damaging your equipment..i would guess the reason they said they couldnt do anything is because it wasnt damaged...no injury no foul...maybe a good answer would have been "we're sorry and we'll speak to our people about proper care"...that is not knowing how you approached them...in the future i would suggest you empty the contents of your bag yourself...
Well, I don't know about the "majority of the population," but I'm sure that the businesses who want to service the majority of the population (and, even more so, the tourists) and make money from them by their presence here in FL think that. Hence, the FRF and "The Rodent."Right up to the point where the establishment shuts down because no one attends it anymore due to their crazy policies. ^^^ Unfortunately far to many members actually believe the majority of the population in this state are for the right to carry a firearm in public...not so I am afraid.
Because "The Rodent / FRF" have tried to do it in the past. There's a history there The only way we got the FL legislature to stop that effort was to drop constitutional carry, at the time. Many feel owning a firearm is fine, but they refuse to think carrying one is safe and proper. Think about it...how many members in here are afraid open carry will bring signage as a force of law?
Agreed. If the TSA were not able to open/inspect checked baggage on their own (and not within your presence), it might be different. if the checked baggage scan has a hit, call the pax back to check-in or wherever it may be, and have them watch while the TSA inspects. Lock it up after done and then you (and your bag) are on their way. I guess I've been a bit lucky in that I've used TSA locks, and when a bag of mine was opened, it was locked back up. I used to position my bag zippers so I could detect a potential opening. The problem with that approach, at least concerning some high-end camera lenses, is that the lead in the glass (sometimes) makes the item opaque to x-ray scanners -- and then they open the bag for a manual search. I never bag-check camera gear. 100% carry on, or I find another way to get it to my destination. (I don't trust the airlines, cruise lines, etc...)
That's the thing, Brownie. The TSA will "undo" all that good packing. If I had a dive computer, say, packed very carefully and sealied in bubble wrap, they would tear away at that bubble wrap and not replace it when they're done. They might put it back in the box it came in, but not re-wrap it.That's a problem.Checked luggage, and you'll have packed it correctly so no matter of mishandling the bag will damage the equipment
Nah, I've had several checked bags locked with TSA approved locks opened by their master keys. They even put a placard in the bag that says, "Your bag was opened and inspected by the TSA." Now, of course, they relocked it once finished, but you could tell they were in there.Interesting, when I checked a bag it was locked with the only keys with me. Never had a checked bag opened by tsa or the airlines nor brought back to me to open for either other than when I declared a firearm in the bag going to the belly of the plane
