They made so many M1 carbines (≈8000000) and they kept making spare parts for so long that it isn't difficult to get USGI spare parts that are still new in box or new in wrap even today, 78 years after the last M1 carbine was made.

Like much other stuff from then I still think it cool that you can find NIW things of all flavors.

Try finding a correct period matching 1911 magazine from that same era. Earlier ones are hundreds of dollars.

And Fulton Armory is still making exceptional reproductions. These are collectors items will probably never be used or unwrapped. But the USGI mags available work just fine and the korean new mags a good with a bolt hold open follower $25
