I just got my permit today and strapped on my leather IWB holster for my Glock 26. I gotta say I hate it, Is it because it's new? It was very uncomfortable.

any suggestions?

I should probably let the holster guys chime in on this one, but, since you say it's new...my understanding is that most new DECENT leather holsters require some sort of break-in.

Since I've yet to sweet talk the Mrs. into letting me get a DECENT holster :aarg, I'm afraid I don't know that for certain. But, I've seen a "break-in" mentioned several times here regarding new holsters from the custom guys.
I bought a super tuck and have been breaking it in. Last week I had it on all day everywhere i went for a few days and it was comfortable. I didn't have my Glock 26 inside since i dont have my permit yet but around the house i put it in and it was comfortable.

Very nice holster.
It just may take you some time to get use to it. And I think your leather holster will, I hate to say soften, "unstiffen" with use.

That being said, I've found that I cannot comfortably IWB anything larger than my Bersa 380CC. And I have tried to with larger guns in quality holsters. But that's just me.
Try moving it either forward or back in your waistband. Sometimes it is your body, not the holster. Moving the holster will sometimes make it more comfortable. I find that 3 o'clock IWB carry is not as comfortable as 4 o'clock, for me.

What kind of holster?
Where are you trying to wear it?
What was uncomfortable? Pants too tight? Weapon/holster poking you in bad places?
I also have a supertuck and just got my license two days ago so I am a complete newbie. Been wearing the supertuck and the G23 for a couple of days and don't notice it at all now. I am wearing it now as a matter of fact. I also find the 4 o'clock position most comfortable but the grip shows to much when I bend forward so I wear at 3 o'clock. Any more forward and I cannot bend my right leg too well. I can drive and access my weapon with the seat belt on at 3 o'clock as well. This holster didn't seem to need any break-in at all but I am sure it will only get more comfortable.
What holster are you wearing and what size pants or shorts are you wearing??When you use an IWB holster there is a break in period. It is also important to get pants or shorts that are about 2 inches larger than what you would normally wear if you didn't have an IWB on. I have an MTAC holster and wear it with a pair of shorts that are one size larger. I also wear a light undershirt. So the inside of the IWB touches the shirt and not bare skin.
type of holster is very important. I find that my thicker heavier made IWB
are not as comfortable. so I built thinner leather holster for my 380 and my nine and I barely know its there I wear it at 230 with a pretty good can't forward which allows me to sit and drive

I got mine from the holster store in Orlando.

Thanks, That was perfect.
Yes it will adapt to your body some with time.

But probably the most important part for concealability and feel is where you wear it. I wear my Little Bear at 4:00 as that is the most comfortable position for me. A little harder to access when driving but I can tolerate that.

Most of the time I don't even feel the holster and the only feeling sensation I have is the downward tug on my pants.

Ok, try another gun. I too found Glocks to be uncomfortable. :rolf

Ditto. I have a G27, and have the same problem. My Kimber CDP (.45) is fine, though.

I have a paddle holster fobus! with my Glock 38 and I love it.
I had to go up an inch in the waist of pants I wear in order to be comfortable.

Are you wearing a proper gun belt? That also makes a big difference.

Changing guns may be an answer too.:D

I have a Glock 26, Glock 19, XD9 subcompact, and XD40 subcompact that I wear regularly. However, hands down, the most comfortable guns I wear are a Sig 1911 GSR Revolution C3 45 cal. and an EAA Witness compact in 40 S&W. Simply because they are thinner.

They break in as said. Wearing a undershirt helps. I always wear 1 anyway cause I sweat a lot. No bare skin touching anywhere. I ride it at about 2-2:30. Have to cause I drive a car with heavy bolstered sport seats & anything after about 2:30 presses into the bolster. I can concur the size of the pants/shorts matters. I have a pair of shorts I wear that are a tad tight with the IWB. Makes it a little uncomfortable.
Sorry you are comfy with your holster. My Little Bear IWB holster is very comfortable. I have his gun belt (helps) and a spare mag/light sheath on the other side.
Good luck! You will find a holster that you're pleased with.:thumsup

Why can't I just keep it in my pocket?
