Took A Walk

Took a walk through Wally World and Lowes. As usual, no ammo at W.W., but made up for it by picking up some tools at Lowes.

I carried a 5" 1911 in a Pro Carry Deep Comfort Executive IWB from The Holster Store. The gun disappeared under a loose t-shirt. But it does tend to rub bare skin. I guess maybe a second shirt between me and the gun or look into a holster with a shield/guard. Any suggestions?

While I was aware of the gun most of the time (especially with it rubbing), I didn't feel conspicuous. All in all, a good outing, in spite of the gun rubbing my "love handles".

I always wear a t-shirt when carrying. Just infinitely more comfortabel. Guards don't help all that much against bare skin.

Congrats on your license. My friend sent his in sometime in January, got it on Friday.

I wear "muscle shirts" under Aloha shirts almost all the time. Tank tops are OK, too. Much more comfortable than no shirt at all with my Glock 19 and Blade-Tech paddle.

You want the "under" shirt to fit pretty well, not loose. I have a 43" chest and wear Small size shirts. There's still room, but no danger of the shirt getting grabbed along with the grip.

That was what got me, the grips are like sandpaper! I solved it with a Kholster holster. Really comfortable and no more rubbing my skin. There is a thread in "Holsters" about these holsters. http://floridaconcealedcarry.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=3050

Check them out and congrats on the CCW!

After I got my permit, I went to the grocery store and Wally World. Naturally, no ammo. I carried my snubbie 357 in my pocket, no holster, and it felt comfortable. Next I will carry my Baretta M9 and then my Colt 1911.

just got my ccw last week. first "walk. was walgreens via mexican carry. carried that way a time or two since but not a fan of no trigger guard. SmartCarry came in yesterday and have been using it since. went to walmart this morning, movie theater this afternoon, cold stone creamery, staples, and then blockbuster. comfy the whole time. :)
