dave with little bear holsters can help u out
^^ what he said, I wear my little bear holsters shooters belt daily..
a "gun" belt is typically stiffer and will keep things more snug to your body and where you want them. Depending how you're carrying, bending at the waist could lead to printing, no matter the belt. Also, if you've just started carrying, you're probably experiencing a bit of printing paranoia.
I've been carrying now for about 5 months. I picked up a gun belt at the gun show last weekend (~175.00) and it makes a HUGE difference. I use a MTAC with my Ultra Carry II and the belt has really made it more secure and comfortable. The rig just doesn't "hang" like it used to.

Get a gun belt. They're thick, heavy and sturdy.

If you're not a leather guy, solid belts can be had for much less. I paid ~$50 for my Wilderness 5-stitch. Holds my firearm tight and secure. I'm still trying to convince my climbing gym to let me rappel with it. :D
well i wear shorts, not jean shorts though. pacsun type shorts. i tried my holster on with the belt i got from pacsun and well it makes my shorts droop in the back and well its just not looking very right.

what am i suppost to do when i have to sit down? i will totally show through my shirt. so if im carrying i can only stand? whats the deal? where can i find some good prices on belts for 1 1/2?
Where are you carrying? SOB, 5, 3?

I wear cargos 95% of the time. I wear a Wilderness in khaki. Fair price and a great belt. I ordered online, but found they sell them in my LGS too. It's casual and not much different that a web belt with a friction buckle. Carrying at 3-4, you cant tell I'm wearing a firearm, and I sit, bend, squat, and lean without being made. Your Kimber probably has a bit mkore weight than my XD, but a good belt wont know the difference. You'll find part of it is initial paranoia. The other part is learning how to move. Carrying further toward SOB will make it a little easier to conceal while standing, but it makes sitting a beast. You'd be best to try out right around 330.

I think it means Small of Back.
If you think you can see it printing, don't worry about it.
No one else will see it.
I wear a huge Glock 19 in a crossbreed supertuck IWB with a pull over t-shirt.
I see it plain as day, every time i look down there i can see the sharp edges of the gun, but no one else see's it.:rolf
I carry a 5" XD with an OWB pancake style holster, and if i'm not at work, I primarily wear cargo type shorts and t-shirt. I carry it right on my 3 o'clock, and can see it just barely. I haven't carried in public yet because I'm still playing the waiting game, but I wear it around the house, and no-one even notices. And we're talking about people who see me every day. I've learned that in general, people are oblivious, and just don't pay attention. Tell me, before you entered this world of concealed carry, did you make it a habit of looking at people's waist to see if you could see a gun? Me neither, and neither do most other people. Don't worry about it.
I have carried with a regular belt for over 15 years; then a few years ago, I reluctantly decided to try a gun belt, couldn't make much of a difference.

Well I had to admit it does make a real difference, I wouldn't go without one any more.

Try one, see how it works for you.

As mentioned, I was referring to Small of Back. Right around 6 o clock. When you bend at the waist with the gun here, it's going to stick up off of your back. I tried carrying at 5ish, and it printed badly and made sitting, and drawing, in the car bad.

If you move the gun to 3-4, the gun will still be within the coverage of your sides and may print a bit right at the bottom of the butt. It's no more printing than that of a cell phone. I wear my XD in shorts and a light t-shirt every day(polo when at work) and have no issues. My shirts arent oversized, so I sometimes have a bit of printing no matter my position. When I stand, the rear sight touches the front of my shirt because of the cant of my holster. Sitting, I get a minor print on the back. Nothing that would alarm anyone. Sorry, I just can't pull off the Hawaiian cover shirt. Regardless, the guy next to me with the BlackBerry on his hip generally prints a lot worse than I do.

It'll become a lot less stressful in about a week. :thumsup

Here's my belt. I went with the 5-stitch for extra stiffness.

for me it was that the belt didnt loosen, shift or sag. The sagging is going to be more noticeable when carrying OWB.
