And here’s the kicker, you can’t just buy a overpriced ticket then go on the ride.you have to make a reservation tied to that ticket for a specific day. And It is so popular you either pay extra $14 for a lightning lane e-pass of sign up for the ’virtual queue “ - or both. Everything is dependent on Disney app to do anything. Everybody walks around glued to their phone.
***k that ***t. I'm glad we were in "Disney mode" years ago with our kids. You bought a ticket. You went through the line. You rode the ride. Next!

Reservations for an amusement park ride?!?? AFTER paying for admission? GTFOOH!

Yes I hear you- this is the world now, those simple days are over. And to make it worse, to be sure you get on the 2 most popular rides Ride of the Resistance & Guardians- you have to get up & be ready at 7am to make a virtual queue or lightning lane reservation or you won't get on that day! They are not alone, Universal studios has started the same thing.
And the food prices are insane- $14 for a burger & fries- a beer is $9. Their hotels start at $200 a day. $25 to park.
But the frigging place is packed- many many foreigners as well. Brits/ Europeans Ect. Nobody seems to care about the prices.
Doesn't matter to me if that's "the world now." I won't be participating. Sucks to be a lemming.

Well with that mindset you won't get to experience some things.
LOL! I actually laughed out loud at this. Whaaaaaa? I'm depriving myself of going BACK to Disney? Sh**... I'd pay money to NOT be forced into going there. Been there. Done that. Probably a half dozen times, at least. Kids got the t-shirts and mouse ears.

If I'm going to spend money on future vacations and trips, it sure as hell would not be going back to ****ing Disney. LOL! I'm a grown-ass adult, and my children aren't 6 years old anymore.

Hell, I am a adult- and it was alot of fun. When was the last time you were there? Things have changed completely. The new attractions are so advanced it you were there more that a few years ago you have no idea what your talking about. Been there done that does not apply. What do you think time has stood still from when you were they last - what 10 + years ago??
Ah, you've mistaken me for a person who cares that it's changed. As I said... I'm a grown-ass adult who would rather do SO many other things and go so many other places than to spend time (and a LOT of money) crammed into an amusement park with a gazillion other people.

Seriously... I wouldn't go if it was free of charge to me. Just not my "jam." It would be a nightmare for me, actually. But you enjoy!

But I did enjoy it & taking a vacation these days anywhere to do almost anything is alot of money.
That's what it's all about... what you enjoy. If you enjoy it, then it's worth it. And yeah... everything is stupid expensive everywhere you go. I'd rather spend the same money on renting a nice house on a lake in South Carolina and going on hikes with my family.

Getting away from the routine and seeing some new scenery is worth a lot... especially after the insanity of the last 3 years (which is showing no signs of abatement).

Absolutely, & that is why I refused to go to Disney or take a cruise over the past couple years- I would not abide by their bull mask requirements. And actually a “staycation“ is much more relaxing as well !
Ha! If I NEVER go on a cruise ship in my entire life, I will consider it a success. :) I know a LOT of people think cruise ships are cool and fun. It would be my WORST nightmare of a "vacation." You seriously could not pay me enough to go on a cruise ship... ever.

I'd have not experienced the Mayan ruins of Belize and Mexico, or taken motobikes all over one of the islands for a day or seen other historical sights for under 1200.00 elsewhere but for that cruise ships ports of call. If I wanted to make those excursions on my own it would be in the neighborhood of 3-4K, and I'd have to pay for lodging, food, transportation to boot.
I'd rather spend a week at such a destination and pay EXTRA to not be part of a cruise ship tour group... and go visit ruins and sites where the cruise ship people don't go... because they don't have time to go there (THANKFULLY!). Gotta run off to the next port. BARF!

I do understand that cruise ships with thousands of passengers are enjoyed by the masses. It's truly my nightmare. Wouldn't do it for free or even to be paid to do it.

Cruise ships ruined Key West. I'd rather go where the cruise ships don't go.

I was on two cruise ships. The USS Trenton and the USS Austin. Do not recommend
Ha! USS Independence CV-62 for two years. And I'd MUCH sooner go back to that (in the Persian Gulf!) than get on a Carnival or other commercial cruise ship for a nightmare ride around the Caribbean! No joke.

Whenever I see ads on TV for cruise ships, it literally makes me shudder at the idea.

Thanks BeerHunter, just wish to clarify the metal detectors were there at Hollywood Studios & Epcot, but were unmanned & not being used. And confirming no bag checks whatsoever.
That really is quite remarkable.
