Hi, again with a newbie question. Yesterday I went to to the range and I paid for a box of 45 ACP Magtech 50 rds 22.70 dlls and for a box of 38 spcl Mag teck 18.25. dlls. Are these reasonable prices. Where can I find cheaper ammo to practice. Is there an internet based site or something like that?

Thanks

I can't comment on those prices, except to say that they don't sound terribly bad. Some gun shops sell reloads. That's what I would look for if I didn't do my own. Also, I've seen reloads at gun shows. At a recent Orlando show, I believe .45 ACP was going for about $18 for a bag of 100 rounds, or about $9 a box.

I've never been a fan of Mag-Tech ammo, so I couldn't tell you what a "reasonable" price would be. There are, however, a multitude of places on the internet to purchase ammo. I mostly reload my own stuff, but I have been satisfied with the prices I've paid at Natchez Shooters Supplies...

Cheaper Than Dirt and Sportsmans Guide also come to mind...

Try googling 'ammo' and you will get about a gazillion returns. :thumsup

Here are a bunch or ammo websites I use that will give you a good feel for prices on various ammo.

I have noticed that quite often the best price of one type of ammo on a particular website does not always mean the best price on another type of ammo on that same site.

Something to keep in mind when buying ammo at gunshops you will be paying thier prices as stated they do have costs involved they are in bussines to make a profit.

When I'm at the range and run out of ammo or just wanna shoot some more i will buy a box from them, but most of the time i'll just go to wally world and get some blazer brass or winchester white box.
