Hi I am new to the forum and wondering if there are a lot of people with long application approval wait times. I applied at polk county DMV back in early august and still to this date the online status check says we've recieved your application and it's being processed. But it so also states they have 90 days to issue or deny a license.I have tried calling but all I get is do to high application demands we are no longer answering phone calls. Has anyone else had this issue .I have purchased at least 10 firearms since I've been waiting with no change in status

Welcome to FCC from Palm Beach County, Slick50!

The short answer to your question is YES!

Since you've now made your first post to FCC, please now take the time to post you're own Introduction Thread to FCC letting forum members get to know you a little, of course without getting too personal. You can do that by going to the Introduce Yourself section of The Front Office and start your very own introduction thread. Then you'll find that lots of other FCC members will know to chime in to properly welcome you to the forum, and will be more responsive in answering your questions! Also, if you're a veteran, take a look at our Military Service Thread where you'll find many of us there, too!

In case you weren't aware, you can stay current on pertinent Florida Statutes regarding use of force and firearms law by going right to the source using these links for Chapter 776 - Justifiable Use of Force and Chapter 790 - Weapons and Firearms. I'd also like to suggest you obtain your own copy of FLORIDA FIREARMS Law, Use & Ownership by Jon Gutmacher!

Also, I highly recommend you read this thread to understand how to navigate FCC to get the most out of your experience. One particular item that's caught many veteran FCC members off guard is the "Recommended Reading" at the bottom of each page, which MAY contain quite old threads of inactive conversations lacking up-to-date information or context. So beware of the date of the last post (just to the right of the post number) in any thread you come across so you don't mistakenly think every post is recent and start responding to very old posts/threads that been dormant for quite some time, sometimes for many years.

Again, welcome to FCC and good luck!

Be glad you live in polk county or you would still be trying to get your finger prints done, Howdy neighbor. The wait is always the worst part, 6 months after you get your license you will start to forget you are carrying .

Thanks I figured it might be just a bit of a wait since they had stopped processing in March but they boast on their site and their phone recordings they are processing in under 55 days but at the same time a government agency the taxpayers pay for them to do their job but yet they leave stupid messaging on their phone service declaring do to high volume of applications we will not answer the phone to prove their actually working is such a joke.

FWIW: Some people here have reported receiving their CCW in the mail while the DOACS website claims the application is still pending.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
