Well, I own a few Wilsons, a Bear, and assorted other 1911s.
Strangely enough; I own more Colts than any other brand, and, apparently even more strangely (to some) the Colts, along with everything else; function reliably, and shoot very well. Most of the Colts are from 2011 forward, and one is a 1985 Colt.

My milspec s/s Colt gov model bought in 1984 made in 81 [ 70's series ] ran flawless with HP's, and of course 230 ball as well. That 70's series blued Gold Cup ran the same, but that being a target gun, I never carried it.

I preferred 2 Springer gov models that were parked for the streets during the 80's-90's and that's what I carried for over 2 decades after they both had a reliability package performed by my armorer [ former Navy armorer who at one time held the high score at Camp Perry ].

Today I still prefer the parked milspecs, and several years ago had an AO gutted for high dollar internals making it a mutt on the outside and a race car internally. It's a sleeper.
I really liked that gun!

Do you remember the maker of the parts you replaced oem with? I can never remember but they were top of the top of the line IIRC
The hammer (retro style), sear (true-radius), disco, trigger, hammer strut and strut pin were all Extreme Service parts from Harrison Custom Design, by custom 1911 builder John Harrison of Kennesaw, Ga. The light pull sear spring was from Cylinder and Slide.
I’d initially ordered a Colt sear spring from John; but the pull was a little heavier than you (and I) wanted; so I went with the C&S sear spring.

I don’t remember if you had me change out the thumb safety or not. Either way, I’d have had to fit the existing one to the new hammer and sear, same as I’d have had to fit a new one (which is probably why I don’t remember).

I know I gave you the Harrison invoice for the new parts, and gave you all the old parts that were replaced. 👍
