Folks,
S&W have Shot Announced a new pistol, with a totally new gas operating system...

If you shoot with someone who has one, I recommend wrap around safety glasses and a face shield and body armor and protective gloves...just to stand near this one.

Who notes the results of S&W being creative are questionable. It took them until the 39-2 to get a single stack DA/SA pistol functional, and it was still too big.

OF COURSE….because S&W has such a well deserved and widely know reputation for building guns that blow up because of design flaws

That was the S&W Model 61 Escort, it didn't blow up, just shed parts and failed with many brands of .22LR.
The S&W Model 59, until the 59-1 would not get through a full magazine without problems.

Oh well I that case we should worry about colts…how long was it before colt figured out how to make 1911’s reliable lol

Colt 1911's were always reliable, with the ammo they were designed to shoot, 230 ball. Over time with more people carrying HP's and whining about the guns won't feed that type of bullet, they opened the throat up and instant presto, back to as reliable with HP's as ball ammo

Colt made them better with Hollow point ammo it took them a long time to get them what is considered “reliable”
Love my 1911’s and especially my colts but colts have never been at the top of the heap for reliable 1911’s…. with basic knowledge and a little work they are but not straight from colt
