Colt 1911's were always reliable, with the ammo they were designed to shoot, 230 ball. Over time with more people carrying HP's and whining about the guns won't feed that type of bullet, they opened the throat up and instant presto, back to as reliable with HP's as ball ammo
Bear me to it! (y)(y)

My MILSPEC Colt 1911 has never missed a beat, but I don't shoot that one an awful lot. 🤠

I really liked that gun!
Me too and not long after he got that A.O. MILSPEC, I was trying to get one myself, but waited too long and they were OOS. So I lost out. When I looked again a lot later, they were no longer available anywhere. In fact, I later bought the RIA MILSPEC Officer model as a close (enough) facilime. Love that 1911 and it's a great shooter for me, so much so that it's in my EDC rotation! 🤠
