My wife has gotten tickets to go see coldplay at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. I don't see anything in the law that would prohibit ccw there (someone sing out if you disagree), but does anyone know if the venue has prohibited ccw? I haven't been to a concert in years, and I've heard stories of folks being searched, scanned with metal detectors, etc.

many thanks

One thing to keep in mind that The Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is owned and operated by the City of Orlando and is part of the Orlando Centroplex, which includes the T.D. Waterhouse Centre, Bob Carr Performing Arts Center and the Expo Center City hall is owned and operated by the city of Orlando would you carry into City hall? not me,I definatelty wouldn't want to be a test case even though the citrus bowl is in a questionable area me personally i would even have second thoughts about leaving my gun in the car.this is just my opinion hopefully someone will come up with a Florida Staute i researched but couldnt find anything,Also it is a sports arena and jones high school right up the street they use it for thier football games well UCF used to use it i guess there is something out there i just would take that chance considering what would happen if i was wrong.I guess im going with the notion that even if its not there doesnt mean theres not a staute just means i was looking in the wrong place sorry wish i could have been of more help.

CCW at Concert ??

If this concert is within the venue of the Orlando PD or the Orange County SO, I would first call them and ask what their ground rules will be. Getting refused at the gate after so much effort seems like a waste of time.

I recently attended a DCI event at the Citrus Bowl (and I thought the Orange Bowl was a POS :laughing) and they were only doing cursory bag checks, but that was a much smaller crowd than a Coldgay concert will draw. :laughing j/k

I saw no metal detectors or any "No Guns Allowed" signage and nobody was getting patted down, so toting one in on your person would have been easy. Whether it's legal or not, I have no idea.

To the best of my knowledge, concealed carry at a concert is going to be one of those areas that is not prohibited by Florida statute, but prohibited by the venue, so while not illegal, they can refuse you entry under threat of arrest for trespass. The law does include professional sporting events, but it omits concerts in the wording.

I once called the large concert venue here at Panther Arena (or whatever they call it) and asked when Billy Joel was performing there last year. After being switched to the Director of Security, I was told pretty rudely that it was not allowed in no uncertain terms.

You can try, but be prepared to have to go back and lock it in your car.

You don't need baggy clothes to conceal a weapon and you will find baggy clothes at more concerts than just rap concerts, which brings me to what is your real point?... At a minimum, What ever your point, I bet it has very little to do with the topic of this thread. And at worst, You make yourself an easier target if your threat focus is as narrow minded as it appears which is a disservice only to yourself.

Sorry for the thread creep of my own,
RS
