Laws are ambiguous to say the least relating to who you are and your profession, you make a mistake and your marked forever, with that being said and my background in the law profession I'd counsel you to get a big dog to protect your home, people don't realize the ramifications both short and long term once that firearm goes bang. I've seen professionals come b4 me with tears n their eyes knowning their life and assets with never be the same because they over reacted to a situation, better make sure it's a life and death situation and you can prove it without a shadow of a doubt. I tell people if you can RUN !! If not you and the perp have a serious problem ....good luck n your quest for protection but don't stimulate a situation that can be resolved with conversation ....

If in fact the situation does take place in the home that's a different ballgame but I didn't read it as home invasion, the terminology "protect ourselves and our family" within the dwelling is another responsibility to the people in the home that the gentlemen must also consider, I hope he and she considers some type of instruction in firearms b4 taking this step to protect themselves wth Glock pistols. In stressful Chaotic conditions many things can go wrong if one has no background to deal with same, but to each their own ...

Recently from a flight from the west coast I sat next to a Delta airline pilot and had a wonderful conversation
Regarding the arming of pilots on aircraft .... They don't pay airline pilots enough for what they do and what they are responsible for ....good luck on your quest for peace and tranquility
