Hey there, just signed up today. I've been carrying in Florida for the past two years. I love this state! NY took nearly seven months to issue a permit; and that was only a premise. My carry permit took nearly a year; which was only valid while working.

Ok I'm done rambling on; anyone else in clermont or in lake county? Would be cool to have a range/gun show buddy. My wife refuses to go anymore.

Welcome XD40SC. Former New Yorker myself and you don't realize how many rights you give up living there until you move to a state like Florida.

Hi XD40SC, another ex New Yorker here. My NYC target permit took 6 months to get. I am still waiting to get my carry permit here.

Welcome, XD! I grew up in the Upper East Side of Manhattan myself. I was told to not even bother getting a CWP in NYC, so I was glad to finally move down here. Looks like Florida has seen the light. :laughing

I'm a former Clermont resident. Moved a year ago over near the Orlando airport. I still have a house in Clermont. Renting it out now.

Welcome to the forum. Have you found a range out there you like?

I go to a range across from the OC jail on JYP. I believe it's called the shooting gallery. It's not the best place around, but I've seen worse. Plenty of lanes so there's hardly a wait unless they're having a CWP class.

XD, are you talking about The Shooting Gallery Range, 2911 W. 39th St.? If so, that was the same one I went to for my CWP class. All the guys that work there are pretty cool people, and you're right, the range is pretty clear. Their big garbage can in the range itself though needs about 2 tons of baking powder, though. :rolf

I've been there, and it is pretty good. Rieg's gun shop is better.IMO. OBT north of Oak Ridge and just south of Americana. Costs $2 more, though, and doesn't include ear and eye protection (available for extra).
