I mailed my application in on August 18 and haven't received the permit yet. At the time, I was not a resident of Florida. As of about a week ago, I am a resident. Is there anything I must/should do to get my permit type changed once it gets issued, or is there something I can do now? I am in Pensacola and have been reading about the new system that I can do at FWB to get the permit issued much faster. The only reason I could see wanting to get a resident permit (as opposed to non-resident) is I go to Colorado periodically, which only recognizes resident permits.

Would a FL driver's license and the non-resident permit suffice as a resident permit, or is there something else to do?
Could I go to Ft. Walton Beach and reapply for the permit using the different system?

I am active duty military and used my mil ID as proof of training.

Thanks for the guidance.

As far as I know, there's no difference between a resident and a non-resident license except the address on it. I think that you just have to wait for it to arrive and then notify the department of your change of address. If you want it reissued with the new address, I think there's a minor fee for that.

It's easy really..you just have to "apply" for membership to the Clubhouse.

First, you have to knock 3 times, wait 4 counts, knock 8, wait 2, knock once, then like bark like a dog. You will then be prompted for the password. The password is one of the many words scrawled into the door. The right one moves you forward, several results in no action, but, be careful, a few set off Indiana Jones style booby traps....please, try to stay away from those..I wrenched my back rolling that stupid giant boulder back up that ramp from the last guy....Once you get the right password, the door will open up allowing you to sing a song, any song will do requesting admission, where upon the membership will then vote you in or out, it all just depends on our mood that day.

The secret handshake is for you to find. It's out there, just search for it. Google is a good start..

Steve's right. Just call them and have them fix it now, since your license has not yet been issued.

There is a difference between the resident and non resident license. Colorado, Michigan, New Hampshire and South Carolina only honor permits from residents of the issuing state.
