The way I see it, ANY pic taken with a cell could possibly be seen by others and possibly made public. That's just the way it is. Storing them on a phone makes it more likely.
If that's a concern then don't do it.
A good balance might be digital pics of the firearms burned to a disk or flashdrive and kept in a separate safe place. A disk might be better as a flashdrive can fail.
