Yeah its been around but it is a pretty good clip. Somewhere there is an interview with the clerk but a quick Google search didn't turn up anything.

Lots of arm chair quarterbacking about firing so close to the woman and the little boy. IN the interview he said it wasn't as close as it looked from the camera angle. Don't remember anything more from the interview.

Here's a fact that everyone who carries a gun for self-defense needs to recognize and accept...the world is a 360 degree hot range; there are no berms or safety officers and there is no 'safe direction' to shoot...except into a BG.

Looks like pretty good shooting to me; I especially liked the way the male clerk pretended to be complying while drawing his weapon, shielded from the BG's view by the female clerk.

Only bad thing I saw was the BG got a shot off 1st. Looked like the clerk hesitated to fire.

If I remember correctly he put 4 rounds into the robber who was found dead nearby.

If i remember correctly, the story said the robber went down right outside the door. Thats where the PoPo found him when they got there.:rolf

I came across this a while back during one of my youtube frenzies (thats where i go to youtube for something and spend hours clicking on all the other 'related' links).

It did look like it was close to the baby, but camera angles can be deceiving. In this case no one got hurt but the person who should have been.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night.

Officers said that shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money.

Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens.

Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported.

Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery.
3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots

no charges filed agenst shooter, badguy went to prison.

My armchair recap would be good job on the CCW part.
At all times he kept the muzzle on target and what a nice job of cover while pulling.
While the woman may get her panties in a wad over the closeness to the baby she should just think of the all the maybe's and could have beens.

This is the way it should go down when it does happen.

Rule of firearms #37 : Never become too attached to co-workers. You never know when you will need to use them as human shields.

It turned out ok, only the bad guy was hit. but i believe the good guy waited to long to pull the trigger. if you are in your legal right and going to pull out you gun you better use it before the other guy does. it looks like he said something to the bad guy and hesitated before he shot at him, giving him a chance to fire first. this is not good for anyone. any of them could have been shot by the bad guy because of this hesitation and talking. also looks bad that he shot the bad guy in the back as he is leaving the property. if he would have pulled his gun and pulled the trigger faster the bad guy would have went down right there and the good guy would not have fired close to the customer or the baby. but with that being said with adrenalin going and quick thinking it turned out ok.
