Hello,

I am a new member.

I have a Florida concealed carry license. Can I carry a gun that
was purchased by my wife, or do I need to purchase the gun in
my name to carry it?

Thanks

Richard

Welcome to the forum Rocket2004. With your CCL you can carry any weapon you like as long as you can conceal it. It does not matter who owns it. Just make sure you trust the person. You license is not for a specific gun as with some other countries like Jamaica.

Some States like NY require that a particular gun or guns be assigned to the permit. However, thankfully Florida is not like that. As long as the gun is concealed and legal you don't have to own it. What you need to do is get a CCW for your wife then you will be obligated to buy your own gun!

The carry issue and the ownership issue are two different subjects. If a person purchases a gun, gives the gun to another, and the gun is involved in a shooting there may be liabilities.
