Yeah... no. He won't be. The video is VERY clear in proving what happened. The shame of this is that the true victim will probably be arrested for "HIT & RUN"
Ronnie
I heard a THUD as he passed by.I can’t tell but wonder if he hit the first guy on left. Hope he did
I also thought I heard shots as he passed by them. It appeared the bad guys were pointing guns when they first jumped out and got in front of him.I heard a THUD as he passed by.
What's relevant in the first 1:20 is that his situational awareness was triggered right away. He knew something was up and kept his distance. He did the right thing.
For those who haven't watched the video yet, you can jump forward to about 1:20 to see the relevant part.
His car didn't didn't make it cleanly through without hitting the wall and the carjackers car, including taking out the passenger car door, but yeah, he threaded the needle on that one!I am wondering how wide the victims car was to make through that narrow opening?
It didn't "make it through" (without a scratch). The perp's car was pushed out of the way (in addition to removing the door). The left side of the victim's car definitely hit the entire length of the right side of the perp's car. The camera just can't catch that. He probably also brushed the wall a bit.I am wondering how wide the victims car was to make through that narrow opening?
I edited my post above saying same. They have no problems taking your premium payments but look for every reason to not pay.Now... What will his insurance company say? I mean, the damage to the car was not an accident. I actually have no idea how an insurance company would handle this, or if they would cover it.
I’m still wondering how insurance will look at him purposefully damaging his vehicle? Had to get away sure but knowing insurance companies as I do I’m thinking they may give him some initial trouble?

Ironically, if he had let them steal the car (and survived the experience), the insco would have likely paid for the whole car. They have no problems taking your premium payments but look for every reason to not pay.
