Where did you dig that up. That's a neat idea and it looks like it satify's Florida law which says secured in a holster with a thumb break. The only problem I see with this is that you would have to remove it before you open the door because it can be seen by someone when the door is opened.

Don't have one but I like the concept. I agree with JohnSteele in regards to removing before opening the door.
I tend to have a problem with retrieving my gun from its driving position to its carry position without being seen. I usually cover it with a towel or something while getting out of the truck. I keep an old cheap .22revolver in the glove box always for a BUG but I never leave my carry piece in the truck/car.
A good friend of mine had an old nickel-plated Colt Det. Spec. stolen from his truck. His father (now deceased) gave it to him and it was put in the truck the day before along with camping supplies for a weekend outing. If you leave one in the car just make sure its one you can live without.
Hope I didn't highjack the thread

Thats a cool cross draw setup but I have found a sweet spot at the 3:00 position that works for me when I'm in my truck. Sometimes I spend a few seconds fixing my weapon before I leave the vehicle and wonder if anyone is looking at me while doing this. It's best to get a COM safe if your going to leave your weapon in the vehicle.

I took an old Fobus holster I wasn't using anymore and mounted it to the inside of the center console lid in my truck...

The gun is completely hidden from view until I need it and I don't have to worry about it bouncing around or where it'll be when I reach for it.

And no, I don't keep my registration and insurance card in there, so I won't be opening it up when Johnny Law is standing next to the window. :doh

Here's my rig for the XD SC. It fits vertically, and I used the belt holster that came with the gun and some industrial strength velcro to attach it to the inside of the console.

Deadeyedick, wonderful idea...thanks. I took an old Uncle Mike's IWB and used industrial strength Velcro to attach it in a fashion similar to the picture you posted, but mounted it vertically, and it works great. I have a Fobus paddle holster that I may screw onto the console lid instead, depending on how the Velcro holds.

I use an old "Blackhawk #6 to carry a full sized pistol. Dig thru the "holster drawer", we all got something that'll work. Clip it on the seatbelt, appendix area. Free and easy.

On long trips I use a shoulder holster for one gun, an owb for another, and on ALL trips I keep on under my left knee area. Too hard to get to in center console, the holster in the ad looks hard to get to also(especially with door closed), but the one under my knee is but a split second away.
