I can't find any ammo at the local WalMarts. I've been to three different ones and the shelves are picked clean. I did manage to pick up 100 rounds of Blazer 9mm but otherwise there wasn't anything to choose from.

I dropped by Gander up in Sanford while I was out this morning and they were basically asking twice the price for their ammo. I thought I had been paying around $16 for Remington .38 for 50 rounds but they were asking almost $29. Forget it. They had Winchester 50 rounds of .38 (only two boxes) for basically the same thing.

At one of the WalMarts the guy said he can't keep anything stocked. Two other guys walked up asking for ammo and were told the same thing. He said he got a notice from the manufactures that they were swamped trying to keep up with the demand of bullets and cannot guarantee getting shipments to them in a timely manner.

Oh well. Maybe it will all settle down after next Tuesday or shortly thereafter.

The same thing is going on down this way also MB. The lady at the ammo counter at the Walmart here knows me because I have bought most of my practice amo from her. She told me that she doesn't know when they are going to get any WWB in .40 and to keep checking in with her.

I had the same problem yesterday. I went to the Lake Frederica Wal-Mart and there was no .38sp at all. I was lucky they had boxes of the 9mm Blazer Brass for my range addiction, but disappointed on all other counts.

I may go back and buy out the remaining 9mm today. I priced 2,000 rounds on ammunitiontogo.com and (after shipping) still couldn't beat the Wal-Mart price. It's pushing $.20 per round though. I can't believe it's getting that pricey.

If it keeps going up, only BGs who STEAL their ammo will be able to afford any range time. That sucks!

I order from Natchez online.

I'd choose this in 38 spl.

They have it in stock, and ready to ship. Cheaper than walmart even with shipping, right to your door. I wouldn't rely on local suppliers like Walmart to have enough on hand at any given time in the future.

Wow, thanks, Brownie.

At least for now the Remington .38 is out of stock but the Blazer is ready to ship. I do believe I'll be doing a bit of online shopping as soon as I get back from my errand.

I've been lucky in that my local Wally World has had 9mm practice ammo whenever I needed it. I used to regularly get WWB, but now that the Blazer Brass is cheaper, I'm getting it.

When I last bought a couple boxes of the 9mm BB, the next fella was looking for .40S&W, and it sounded like they were either out, or the pickings were pretty slim.

I've had very unsatisfactory experiences with factory reloaded ammo. Can't like it.

All the reload you can eat. From what I hear they make a quality product and offer bulk with gold dot bullets for not much more $. :)

It's good, it works, I shoot a LOT of it.....but it's dirty. .40 will save you about $5/100. 9mm is about the same as WallyWorld.

Haven't noticed any ammo shortages here lately. NO 9mm to be found several months ago.

I went to Bass Pro the other day and tripped on a UMC 250 round Megapack 180gr for $74.99 +tax (darn tax :thumbsdwn) . Walked out for total at $79 and change! :dancingbanana That made it $0.28 a round. Cheapest I got it for here yet. They had a few of them and a couple other guys said their guns eat it all day long with no problems.

Are you using some sort of new math or something ? you paid over $0.31 per round.

I got 3 boxes of .40 Blazer at the WalMart on San Jose in Jacksonville last night. No WWB on the shelf and not a lot of stuff on the shelf at all.

It was $12.47 per box and that equates to $0.25 per round.

Natchez shipped 25,000 blazer aluminum cased 9mm to my house 5 weeks ago for 16.2 cents a round delivered.

It's now 18.9 cents a round to ship the same ammo to my house but they are currently out of stock. By ordering it 5 weeks ago, I saved $675.00 from today's prices.

Brownie,

Could they be out of stock because people like you buy them a boat load at a time? :D

I'm sure of it Mamabear. Everyone is stocking up on ammo for fear of the possible proposed heavy federal tax on ammo in the coming year.

Two buddies out here ordered a total of 50K as well to match my order a week later. :clap

Oh, so you're the guy raiding MY Wal-Mart! :smack
That's okay--take all the .40 you want. But step a way from the 9mm
and .45... :D

Have you checked the one on Phillips, near Emerson? They had plenty the last time I was there just after Christmas. Will check tomorrow for y a'll. I'm still pretty good having got 2K rounds from GA Arms at the fairgrounds show.
