So I called today and spoke with a sensible lady. She said my app. was received Jan. 5 and that they were "finishing up December applications." I asked about my fingerprints (electronic) and she said they were fine. I asked about the new hires, and she said "they were slowly coming on." So any suggestions on what I should do now?

Did you ask to speak to a supervisor? If you get transferred to another person, ask them if they are a supervisor. I had to do that twice today when I called. Finally the third person said yes.
She looked up my app, said quietly I was "in to be processed", (92 days from mailing)then said to hold. After 2-3 min she came back on, said it was issued and gave me the number when I asked.
I wonder if when they take time to look them up, it is faster (for them) to just issue it then?
She was very nice and so was I. Should get it in a few days.

Mine was also recieved on this exact date and i also called today and hit a wall and was told a supervisior would call me back. I will try again in a week if I don't hear anything.
I am a little confused as to how they approve you on the phone if they supposedly haven't even looked at January's yet.

Yeah floydpink, that got me too. I see you sent yours Dec 27? If it helps, I called at 1600 and spoke with Heather after asking two others if I could speak to a supervisor.
If you look at the chart Steve put up, the wait times are all over the place. Some that applied later than I got them already, some that were way earlier than me still haven't. I will have to post when mine arrives in the mail.
If it is a fake out on the phone, they have it down pretty good. I just think the super sees it in the system and if it all looks good, she hits the "Issued" button cause it saves them time (they don't have to deal with it again) and she may know it will keep me from calling again. I really don't know. More to follow.

In other words, Sally and her team are getting 500 apps, and so are Bob and his team. Bob is on the Dream Team in Tallahassee and they are blowing through their apps while Sally's team is munching Bon Bons and moving like snails.
Joe sent his app in 3 weeks after Floyd, but Floyd, as usual, is in the pile of poop and imagining how his Smith snubbie will feel in one of the 5 holsters he has bought while Joe has already eaten his nachos and has gotten used to his carry piece even though he sent his app in 3 weeks after Floyd did.

Mine was signed for on 01/05 also and it arrived yesterday.
I called on 03/25 and spoke with a supervisor who issued it while I was on the phone. That sped up the process for me and I have no idea how long it would have taken without me talking to the supervisor.
I followed up today....twice. Spoke with two different folks. Neither would put me through to a supervisor....one was really rude and said "we have over 90,000 applications to process and we want to know why." I said others are being allowed to speak with supervisors, and she said she couldn't help me.
Called back a second time and spoke to a male. He said the same thing. Would not put be through to a supervisor.

My suggestions, wait. Unfortunately, this isnt like it used to be. Wait times are notably longer and I think we've pretty much confirmed that the 90 day window doesnt meant anything. It sucks, but I'd say wait it out. I got mine in 103 days, and now I see 120s on the board. You're getting close. Lay some pavers between the front door and the mailbox in the meantime. It'll give you a nice foundation to pace on.
Why? Seems like an exercise in futility. I found it more frustrating during my wait to dwell and stalk, than to distract myself with other things. See above regarding wait times, or check the CWP timeline thread. You're only 62 days into it. You have at least a month in my highly accredited, professional opinion. Problem is we are leaving FL for a few months and heading out west....so I am trying to get this taken care of before we leave. I know the folks working on this are buried, but there seems to be no pattern here. Some folks get picked under 90 days, some way over, some apps get lost, some folks get called back and some do not, some are notified of bad prints while others with bad prints hear nothing. So this leads to many unnecessary phone calls and lots of frustration on all sides. If we weren't leaving the state in a few weeks, I'd just wait it out as you suggest.My suggestions, wait. My app was received on Jan 2nd and when I called today I was told that it was issued yesterday. The big shocker was they answered the phone immediately!!! I mean no "please hold for the next operator" recording at all, 3rd ring and I was asked how I could be helped. It was about 9:15 this morning, I joked about the suprise of her picking right up and she said it was a slow morning with the phones.
I think all of us that "had" been calling got our license this week

I tried again today and they wouldn't put me through to a supervisor, although this time, they said they had tried her number.
For the second straight day, they said a supervisor would call me back.
I also was refused access to a supervisor yesterday. Person I talked with said they were too busy. Supposedly took my number but I felt she was not even writing it down. I sent my application 12/27 - she told me I was "in system" 2/28 and that I was being processed and to expect another 5 or 6 weeks. When I asked about the 90 days she replied that the 90 days started after the application was "made whole", i.e. when all the prints were ok'd and all other checks complete. I am sure this is a "get rid of him" answer, but thought I would pass along.
Nearly my situation to the letter. I sent in 12/26 and supposedly entered the system 1/26, check cashed 2/3. Wonder if you were in my CCW class...

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she asked me for a reference number, which I never heard of. Never got called as promised twice in the last 2 days either, and didn't feel hopeful I would from the tone from Tallahassee.
I even mentioned the name of the person I spoke to the day before and they claimed there was nobody by that name in their office. Uh..... sure.
I'm done calling for a few weeks.
Not that it would do any good, but I'm considering a letter to Bronson's office about this lame situation.
At this point, I'm hoping for something by May 14, when i go on vacation.
I'm in it too deep to give up now.
