got up early and called DOA, said good morning to the receptionist who is now on a first name basis with me, got transferred to the Bureau Chief, also on first name basis and began to vent, which she encouraged me to do.

She seemed as surprised as I am about the license not being here and went on to say they had some machines down which I questioned by saying I have a steady stream of friends recieving theirs.

She reissued mine today and said it will be in my mailbox by the end of next week.

Interestingly, she seemed conviced after verifying my address, that the original one will make it to my house and instructed me to cut it up or mail it back if it does.....

So will the original have a different number?

Will it be good until the second one arrives?

Yeah, right. They told me the same thing about my license that was issued on 03/31 and never received, and the one issued on 04/20 that has still yet to make it.

I'll believe them when I see the glorious DOA envelope in the mail. Or "if" I receive it.

All I want to know is:

1. What time did you call them?
2. What number did you use?
3. What is the receptionists name first and last?
4. What is the Bureau Chief's name?

Like many here I am will to buy a few beers for the above information (you'll have to leave your weapon of choice in the car).

Regards

1. Just about every possible time of day starting a little after 90 days
2. Two numbers work, but I found (850) 245 5665 worked quicker
3. Alternated between 2 or 3. Jackie most often.
4. Due to all she did for me, I am not comfortable posting this and causing her any more stress than she is under. Sorry, but this woman conference called the gun range to verify my certificate and went way beyond the call for me. "Google" should be more helpful than I am willing to be on this one.

Jswan724....ONLY if you are going to be drinking in a BAR ONLY establishment or if you are are drinking at a BAR withIN a restaurant, you can't carry your concealed weapon w/ CWL. If you go to outback or chilis or longhorn or wherever, you can get SH: censored faced as long as you are not in the bar area. Don't be reachin' with a ton of coors lights in your belly! good luck! :drinks

JAXjam:

Well we at least got the phone number from floydpink. Now we need some more booze to further loosen his tongue. Ha, Ha. Thanks very much for the info you were willing to share!!

We Jax guys seem to be seeing random results. There are those who filed and got licenses after I sent mine and like many I think I should have received a "neatness and completeness" award for the packet.

I'm at 109 days now and waiting...........

The DOA phone number has been posted here quite a few times that i have seen, but glad I could help. I just don't feel right posting the name of a person who hinted she would prefer me not to. There are supervisors who will indeed help if you are persistant.
In hindsight, I may have pushed a little too hard to work my way up the chain, but did try several times to get a call returned from a supervisor.
