Seems like we all have our favorite gun shops and someone there that has been the most helpful as far as service goes. Why don't we list some of those shops and "contacts" at these shops so that others will have an idea of who to talk to and where to go.

I'll start with Lou's in Hialeah. Not close to where I live but Manny has always been more than helpful everytime I'm in there asking to look at guns.

Also, Arizona Gun and Knife in Lauderhill is good. Kevin seems to be pretty good there.

Don't know if any of these folks are members here.

I'm a fan of Guntech in Fort Lauderdale. He is located off Powerline Road just a few blocks North of Commercial Blvd.

The owner's name is Rich, and he supplies many of the local law enforcement agencies with duty and off-duty weapons of all sorts.

Very nice guy, Marine veteran, and has always been very helpful and competitively priced. Much less expensive and much less attitude than Only The Best Firearms and Guns & Knives.

Rieg's in Orlando is a pleasant place to go shoot.
Rieg's? Where is that? What part of Orlando? Am I still so new to all of this that I've never even heard of them before?

I like the guys at East Orange Shooting.

My wife and I have been very pleased with ProArms in Live Oak, FL and also Gun Gallery in Jacksonville, FL. Even though we live in Pensacola, ProArms has become our 'Local Gun Shop' due to their great service (and the fact that we're in Live Oak regularly anyway).

I have made several purchases from Wayne Berquist in Naples.
His prices to me have been fair; not as low as the online dealers, but then the convenience and service is worth a reasonable extra cost.
I bought an Colt AR-15 from him and after several months I wanted a small modification done to it.
Wayne did it quickly and at no cost!
These guys have to make a reasonable living to stay in business.

+1 for East Orange Shooting Sports. I've never been to Rieg's but I know where it is. It's just not very convenient for me.

I have to agree with DeyeD on Shooters of Jacksonville. They sell a lot of guns and don't mind coming off the sticker price. I also recommend the Gun Gallery in Jacksonville. They don't have the inventory that Shooters has but they are knowledgeable (also have the indoor range).

I purchased my last handgun a Beretta Cheetah 84 from Manny @ Lou's. Nice guy I was recommend to him, when I got there, 3 customers were waiting for him only. I left happy got a good price on it.

Right. And north of Oak Ridge, just south of Americana Blvd. On the west side.
Ok. Now I know why I don't go there. For one it is on the other side of town from me and it is too near the OBT for me to go in there. I'm sure it is a fine store but the OBT creeps me out and I do my best to avoid certain parts of it no matter what time of day it might be. It's a girl thing.

Pensacola Gun Shops

Over the last 8 years, I have dealt with all of the gun shops in Pensacola.

My first choice is Jays on Garden Street simply because they have an enormous stock - plus 3 other stores to draw on. I have purchased 15 weapons from Jays in the last year.

On cash deals, they can be extremely competitive but I like to trade and they accomodate me. There is no free lunch anywhere, but I get what I want/need at Jays.

Kirk is the manager - honest and friendly.

Now I'm going to have to teach myself Spreadsheet and put all this info into a searchable database. :(

Yes, it's actually on the OBT, and I don't like the area much. I've mentioned in another thread that I would prefer to enter the shop before unloading my CW, but that's an issue at most ranges. The other ranges near me, on Oak Ridge and on JYP (across from the jail!) aren't much, if any, better, as far as that goes.

Jay's does have a nice inventory, however, due to negative experiences there I choose to purchase from ProArms in Live Oak.

For those of us who don't live there, what is the OBT?
