my pocket carry is a Karh CM9. This is for self defense not bulls eye shooting so I deceded to go with the CM9 instead of the more expensive PM9. Spare mag or two in other pockets. Sometimes carry in back pocket and if it is a deep pocket will stuff a few napkins or hankerchief in the bottom of the pocket to adjust the height of the pistol (Brownie's tip). ALWAYS have the trigger covered by keeping the CM9 in a Remora pocket holster. Never had the money to try different weapons and feel very comfortable with my choice.

Best is what works for an individual. For me, that is the xd45c. Have heard all the con's and I agree it is bulky, has a high bore axis, etc. For really good concealment, I carry in a leather Brommeland holster that has an aggresive forward cant and 10 +1 configuration. It disappears. The rest of the time it is in a 0 cant owb Panther holster, 13+1.

Yea Right Ronnie ! They don't know their asses from a hole in the ground . It may take me quite a while to procure a Cell Phone . One that I can use for all types of S.D. . Sounds like that 'Reimagined Group' of complete A-Holes

Agreed My Friend ! I like mostly Anything that will Do The Job ! Wheel guns , S/A's , Shotguns , Spear Guns [ Ask Mr. Rick ]
Even my Skinning Hatchet will do . I won't mention the other [ 100 ] or so🍻🍻 'G'

I think for you; a S&W Shield plus in 9mm, or a a Sig P365 X would be good choices. They both fall within your price range, are fairly light, and have fairly decent triggers out of the box.This is to find multiple opinions of Why Your Choice Is #1 . Any descriptions would help , meaning the norm : Reliability , Size , Mag Capacity , Weight , Trigger Pull / lbs , Sights , Caliber and Price . Any Pictures would be quite helpful , if you feel it necessary ..
I am Seriously considering my very first 'Newer' Concealed Carry Handgun . My First quite a few years ago , my Beretta Model 84 . I Liked the Open Slide for ejection . Now my Cz 82 9 mm Makarov , with JHP's .
I feel this is the Perfect Forum , as I do know I will get Varied responses . I am now totally open minded regarding even a striker fired , which even surprises me

The capacities are13+1 for the Shield plus, and 15+1 for the P365 X.
I also have 1911s in all sizes, and can speak to those; if you’re not interested in a hi-cap pistol. You can get those too; but they’re beyond your price range. To meet that; I’ll need to take you to my favorite LGS in Pasco County; as the couple shops in Spring Hill don’t have very good prices (Rural King being the exception; if they even have what you're looking for).

No. My plus fits fine in my standard Shield 9 holsters. The only size difference from the SS Shields is a .20” wider grip on the plus models.

AFAIK, Gary is.
I haven’t ordered from him in a few years now. I have 5-6 of his Max-Con V IWB holsters, and they’re top notch.
That said; they don’t come cheap, and since he’s a one man shop, the wait times are fairly long.

Mike; if you’re referencing leather holsters, it may work OK.
I carry my Shield plus in a Panther Kydex OWB made for my PC Shield 9, and I also carry it in a Brommeland Max-Con V that’s made to fit my older M&P Compact (double stack).
Since it’s a leather IWB; it fits OK and is held securely enough.
I didn’t think of that at first, because it’s primarily my “when the back’s out bad” gun.
I thought that I put the Brommeland Gunleather link in my previous post; but it seems to have “gone away.”

Yes; in their blatant stupidity.
I went through that during the one pistol I bought there. On top of the trigger locks, then after my purchase was complete; the guy asked if I wanted to dry fire the one I bought (which they’d brought down from somewhere else). I told him no; as I’d be doing some work on it anyway. I started to take the gun and leave, but he said I had to wait for a manager. She eventually showed up; to carry the package (gun) and escort me to the front door. When she gave me the package, I asked her why they did that. She said “so you can’t load it, then use it to rob us or shoot someone.” To which I replied “if I wanted to do that; I’d just use the loaded one I’m carrying now. It’s the same one I carry everywhere; including every time I come here.”
The look on her face was worth all their BS! 🤣🤣
