Anybody have a Kholster?

Followed the link in the other thread. This is really a "different" looking rig and I'm curious if anyone with a larger gun uses one and how effective it is?

Also curious as to how kydex effects the finish of the slide vs. a leather holster.

There've been a couple of threads on Kholster here before.

That's an awful lot of leather for an IWB holster, even just as a backing.

Their original design used to be a direct ripoff of the Crossbreed Supertuck (located in the same state, conveniently enough). Shortly after coming on scene, their design was changed to this large garbage can lid design.

My personal preference is Crossbreed. Nice price. GREAT customer service. Lifetime warranty that they actually honor.

As far as effects on finish, I've heard that leather can wear a gun's finish more than kydex. My gun's slide is stainless and has a plastic frame, so finish wear is a non-issue for me. However, finish wear should be the least worry on a carry gun.

A carry gun is meant to be carried, drawn, and reholstered frequently. Regardless of what type of holster you're using, a carry gun WILL eventually get wear on the finish. For the vast majority of folks who carry, that's not an issue at all, as long as the gun is properly maintained. If you're so concerned about the finish wear of your gun, then maybe it needs to remain a safe queen.
