Well here goes! Up until now I just read a lot of forums on both CC and OC. I am definitely happy to be able to excercise my 2A rights. I am supported by my wife and my kids need some training on SECRETS, but all in all I will be carrying. I probably won't talk much but will interact with any or all of you if asked. Just a short note to let all know that the CCW permit is now good for seven years not five, IF and ONLY IF it was issued or re-issued on or after June 11 2008. Mine is only good for 5 years. See quote below.
"Senate Bill 948 is the piece of legislation that increased the valid period of the concealed weapon license. Governor Crist signed the bill into law the previous day. In addition to extending the period of time during which a license is valid from five to seven years, this bill also promulgated language that specifies that a person must be a RESIDENT of the United States and either a CITIZEN or a PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIEN in order qualify for the concealed weapon license. You can read the details regarding Senate Bill 948 by using this link to the Florida Senate: http://www.flsenate.gov/session/ind...fo&Mode=Bills&SubMenu=1&Year=2008&billnum=948. "
This was a response to an error noted on the Dept. Of Agriculuture Licensing website I was studying the other day.Anyway, glad to be part of something good!
