If you're lucky, you have a gun that's popular enough to warrant an airsoft replica. That way, not only are you training with an airsoft gun with similar feel to your real firearm, but it just may fit your carry holster as well.
If possible, get one with a reciprocating slide. Though it doesn't truly mimic recoil, it can help, a little, in training you to find your sight picture after every shot.
