It has been mentioned several times in regards to other posts but none on its own. So, here goes. Any of you train with airsoft pistols? Where did you get your pistol? Would you recommend the retailer? Is it a CO2 or spring loaded pistol? Any other comments about airsolft training?

I think brownie shops here - http://www.precisionairsoft.net/KSC-KWA-Gas-Blow-Back-Pistols-s/37.htm

This is from an earlier post from brownie-

I've got a deal working for the G17 KWA's that are no longer available, and the KSC's on that link don't show the g17's either, but they apparently can get them.

The KWA's are good stuff, take a beating in classes from being dropped etc and the contact there tells me the KSC are the same gun made by KWA so I'm either going to get more KWA's or the KSC, depending on what they can get shipped in for me.

Talk to a guy there named Johnny, tell him Robin Brown sent you his way. He's very knowledgeable on the airsoft products.

Paladin,

I've secured those airsofts just last month, use green gas or propane, the adaptors to use the propane tanks are essential to low cost refilling [ got 5 of them ] and now have 8 total including 5 KWA and 3 KSC g17's. One of them is a g18 full auto but I get to use that exclusively:rolf

SwampRat and I may eventually offer a class in Fla using my gas guns, supplying holsters, mags, pellets and gas [ all inclusive equipment rental ] if people are having trouble finding enough ammo for the ITFTS pistol course.

The idea is to shoot the airsofts to learn the skill, run 50 rds through the students real guns to have them gain the confidence in that skill and then move on to the airsofts with another skill, repeat and rinse throughout the weekend until Sunday after, then run some FoF training scenarios with the skills learned with the airsofts Sunday afternoon.

Precision airsoft is a good company to deal with. Not the cheapest but the best service later if you have a problem with the equipment, they'll stand behind it.

If you're lucky, you have a gun that's popular enough to warrant an airsoft replica. That way, not only are you training with an airsoft gun with similar feel to your real firearm, but it just may fit your carry holster as well.

If possible, get one with a reciprocating slide. Though it doesn't truly mimic recoil, it can help, a little, in training you to find your sight picture after every shot.

airsoft

I did some research and got educated on AIRSOFT. Many dealers out there, wide range of pricing and quality. KWA/KSC are some of the best, but difficult to locate, most suppliers seem to be sold out or back ordered. Tried precisionairsoft.com, but they were out of stock on the model I wanted and their prices were on the high end too. Finally found what I wanted at airsplat.com, copy of my G19, metal slide and uses green gas or propane. Should be good for my purposes and better than a spring airsoft, as I can make multiple shots. Be sure to use the right pellets as well, as the gas guns require a higher quality pellet to avoid jamming the gun.

I just got my Glock 26 blowback in from precision airsoft. I set up my targets inthe garage and used some old sheets to act as apellet catch. Lots of fun elbow up/down shooting. 3/4 extension and point kill position training. This is good stuff - muscle memory and draw practice

For the folks who don't want to spend a lot on "airsoft" and just want to practice backyard plinking and shooting techniques Umarex makes a few pellet guns that are realistic and are CO2 operated with the twelve gram cartridge. I have a .177 cal Berreta PX4 Storm that has the blowback function 16 round magazine and is almost identical in weight as the real thing. The balance of it may be a little different but it works as a training tool. :thumsup

We use the KSC 17 / 19's for all our force on force training exercises. We also recommend to all our students that the buy an air soft replica of what they carry if possible for ongoing training, both in formal training at home.

I believe that air soft is a great training tool that will / should become part of any serious instructors curriculum.

Pretty good idea to train with an airsoft gun but I don't personally. I do have two cheaper M-4's that are battery operated and charge via an AC unit. You fill the mags with around fifty or so pellets and blast away at full auto or single fire similair to the MP-5's setup. Good fun for you and some friends, but damn do they hurt haha.
