a question for m&p 9c owners?

Hello all I got my M&P9c used a wile ago and in cleaning it the other day I noticed a lower case letter u stamped in to it near the front of the trigger guard. Does anybody know what that means. I did a search and nothing showed up? I am thinking about calling S&W about it.

Congratulations! You have a really tiny horse leaving the imprint of his horseshoe.

Actually, I have no idea. Don 't have one on my 9c.

I checked my 40c as it has the same lower unit. Nothing here either.

Well I called the dealer i brought the pistol from and the do not mark them. Think I am going to call S&W tonight after work. hope the have an answer for me....just bugs me wondering why it is there

I was laughing so hard it took me 15 minutes to go and check to see if there was a little "U" on mine. There isn't.

Did anyone ever figure this out?

yeah it was used at S&W for the smithing classes . I called them and asked and some helpful people @ the S&W forums helped me before smith got back to me
As far as me owning it its covered under there warranty so I am a happy camper

Probably a production stamp or a inspectors stamp.
