Hi all who are waiting patiently for your plastic to come in the mail. I checked my status this morning after 77 days, just out of curiosity. I'm not in the system yet. So if you're waiting, just sit back and take it easy, because they are WAY overloaded with new applications.
:drinksEnjoy a virtual cold one on me while we wait together.:drinks

Did you call and ask to speak with a supervisor? That seems to be the trick to getting more accurate updates -- judging by many of the other posts here, you should certainly be in the system by now.

I'm afraid the folks who've been waiting are in for a long haul.

I heard at the last local gun show, the CWFL class held on premises was practically overflowing. I imagine the Dept. of Agriculture has been getting inundated with applications for the past several months.

I've got to believe that the application fee more than pays the cost of processing. With all the budget problems, you'd think that the government folks would transfer some under-funded staff to this cash cow.

Gotta remember that they've gotta send prints off and do background checks, and they've gotta farm that stuff out, since they're not really a law enforcement department.

Everybody's hurting these days. I'm unemployed now, and Brevard County's unemployment rate is ridiculously high. Trying to get through to unemployment claims on the phone is painful, as there is apparently nowhere near enough folks available to take the phone calls.

Supervisor

Certainly unemployment and other critical needs are more important than my permit.

I'll call again on Monday and see if I can talk to someone who can tell me more.

Now at 81 days! It can't be that much longer :)
Request to talk to a supervisor, be polite. After repeated calls and getting basically the run around from the same person that I talked to 3 times before, I asked very politely to speak to a supervisor.

Supervisor checked out my status and said my license has been approved and should be in the mail within 2 days.

I received it 4 days later.. I also was informed by the supervisor that the people who answer the phones are contracted by the state and are not too familiar with procedures.. It took me 89 days and thats with submitting electronic fingerprints twice.

The first set were illegible and the FBI couldn't read them..

God Luck!!!

Thanks for all your comments. I'm on hold now. It is now 84 days.

My friend who sent his packet in at the same time called yesterday and he was told it was mailed Friday. He called to gloat :smack

Both of us submitted paper prints. I'm not sure about the check being cashed as I haven't checked the status of my cashier's check. I'm hoping when I hear from a service rep I won't have to. :thumsup

Just got off the phone with a nice lady from the licensing division. I didn't have to ask for a supervisor. My License was issued yesterday!!!!!

This smiley is cheesy but I'm so thrilled I'm going to use it anyway :dancingbanana

Excellent going there, Pastor! Definitely give us the AAR of the Wally World Walk. ;)
