Just for my reference, in case needed at 500 yards (doubtful):
Rifle: 30 MOA rail
Rings: 20.6 MOA (6 MIL), Height 30mm (1.18")
Scope: IOR/Valdada Recon G2 FFP mil/mil
Retical Total Adjustment Range: 42 Mrad @ 100 yards
Windage Total Adjustment Range: 25 Mrad @ 100 yards
Magnification: 4.8-30x56 (17.2 - 4.7 Feet @ 100 yards)

So I can just add that up, right?
30 + 20.6 + half of 144 42 Mrad being 42 * (60*180)/1000(Pi), or about 144 MOA

I recall I was dreaming 1700 yards when I selected the rings... :)
Rifle is currently zeroed for 100 yards.

A quick AAR...

Fun had by all. There were five shooters plus Bob.

First shooter to tag the 2-inch steel at 500 yards??? ME! 🤣 There was a collective "groan" from the FCCers who knew they'd never hear the end of it!

Caleb was the 2nd one to tag it.

Third one to tag it.... ME! (BeerHunter is kinda sore about it.)

Best trick shot of the day... Anduril hit a 3/8-inch steel plate EDGE-ON! On purpose! The plate had turned sideways from a previous shot.

By far one of the most far out shots I have ever seen.
Your hit at 2” plate at 500 didn’t suck either.

That was good shooting and the only soreness is that you nocked that 2 inch plate off its mount right as I was hopefully going to be the third guy of the day to make that shot. Oh well, I'd likely have missed anyway. Good shooting all and thanks for the work Bob! Also, big thanks to Anduril for bringing lunch for all. (y)

It was a great time learning some long range shooting. Bob is an excellent instructor and is on point. I was stoked to hit a 2” target at 500yds with some wind gusts. Great shooting by all!

Trick Shot!? Harrummph.

In my defense, I took specific aim at that target, dialed-in the dope, (courtesy of Bob), and announced my intentions.
I'll admit to some luck; but that's all. :)

OK, I'll also admit (in advance) to having a very sore and bruised shoulder tomorrow morning.
I can already feel it. Hitting that .338 all day sure takes a toll.

But... I haven't had that much fun in quite a while.
Thanks for putting this together, Bob.
Always good to hang out with friends and make some new ones.

I didn't take a lot of pics, but here ya go....

The view from the 100 yard line - confirming zero and chrono.

Caleb and Anduril at the 100 yard range.

Bob on the spotting scope, BeerHunter with the hat... and.... (I'm forgetting his name, dammit!) at the 100 yard range, confirming zero.

My zero and chrono target. My Magnetospeed missed one of my shots, which is why I took a 6th shot.

Saw a few of these large tortoises at the 500 yard range.

No you don't. . .nor should you! That was great shooting and while I was zeroing in for my own hit with the next shot, your great shot you now you get to claim to be the first of the gang to hit a 2 inch steel plate at 500 yards. . .TWICE!
We all had a great time and learned a lot!

Just look at Racers picture from 500 yrds. That’s 5 football fields and we had hits on a 3/8ths and 2 inch target from there. Hmmmmmm

LOL! If I could have seen it (against the greenery on the backstop / berm), I would have spent the rest of the day trying to shoot it! I think I could have done it! :p
