    Forum Rules and Guidelines

Hello everyone! I just wanted to clarify some rules & guidelines, if you have any questions or suggestions please post below. Thanks!

Just a disclaimer: These are the basic rules for the site but I also reserve the right to make up new ones on the fly and apply them to past threads or posts. If you join this site and post on this site, you agree to these rules. If I find any content that I think could cause me some trouble, legal or otherwise, I will remove it. Also, private messages are private, but upon occasion I have to go in and read them to figure out what is going on in certain situations. By using the PM system, you accept that I may access your PM’s if needed. I do not make a practice of monitoring PM’s, I get enough of those myself! (The ability to read other’s PMs is restricted solely to Administrators and Super Moderators.)

    General:
Keep everything friendly! Don't be an ass to other members, it won't be tolerated. Do not ever make any threats to anyone, whether in the public forum or in a PM. This includes suggesting that you meet up with someone and fight. You will be gone from the site quickly this way. Joking is fine and encouraged, this place is to be light hearted and no one should feel unwelcome.

Each member is allowed one account. Multiple user account registrations for one individual are not permitted. We have tools designed to detect multiple accounts and, when discovered, we reserve the right to delete, ban, revoke or merge any or all of these accounts, without further notice.

Foul, offensive, vulgar, derogatory, abusive language, or sexual references/Jokes: Please keep language sanitary! We are all adults here and I swear like a sailor, but try to keep it out of the forums. A lot of members may have children that like to browse the site with them and I would like for that to be a safe thing to do. The use of bad language or profanity may cause your post to be edited or the post deleted by forum staff. If your post crosses the line of what’s deemed acceptable behavior by the forum staff your post will be deleted. You may receive an infraction, and/or given a temporary ban or be permanently banned off the forum. Use discretion when using such language.
Please refrain from typing around the censors, they are there for a reason! Just say shut instead of ****, friggin instead of ****, etc. Substitutions are fine, just don't change a character in a word to get around the censor, like using $ instead of an S.

Please do not post pictures or reference crying babies, wambulances, etc into threads where they will not be welcomed (such as a debate thread.)

No bashing of other sites. Discussions are allowed but no “That site sucks!!!!!” posts should be made. Sites can be mentioned and discussed, just not bashed.

If you haven’t heard, there seems to be a trend surfacing that could affect us at some point. Apparently lawyers in Las Vegas have begun copyrighting news articles and then suing websites like ours when members have cut and pasted a news story from their paper. From here on out, DO NOT cut and paste any content from other sites, especially news articles or copyrighted material, just post a link to the material. Please refer to the censorship thread for further information on posting.
Anything that can be portrayed as libel will be edited or removed. I know that is pretty vague, as I research what constitutes libel I will amend the rule.

    Avatars:
Everyone is allowed to post pictures for their avatars. I just ask that you avoid anything too racy, gross, inflammatory, or offensive. I will remove or change your avatar if I find it to be too racy, gross, freaky looking, etc. If it is a sexy woman picture, it needs to be something that could be worn in the grocery store without anyone losing their minds, I think that pretty much covers it.

    Signatures:
Everyone is allowed to have a signature, but it can't be anything offensive. Nothing explicit, overly-sexual, etc. Just try and keep it clean please.

    Advertising:
Advertising for ANY business or product in usernames, signatures or avatars is not allowed, UNLESS you are a site sponsor. These will be removed. Creating threads or posts to advertise any business or product will be considered spam and will be deleted. Posting offenders risk being immediately banned.
If you are a Business or have a product or service that would be of interest to our members please click the Contact Us Link at the bottom of every page and choose the "Advertising Inquiry" option to learn how you can join our team and help support our community. We offer low-cost packages that can be of great benefit to you and your company.
Advertising outside forums(forums not owned by VerticalScope) is NOT allowed. Anyone advertising outside forums risk being banned.

    Moderators:
Moderators are here to keep an eye on the place. They are regular users who happen to spend a lot of time on here. If you need help please look for a name in purple at the bottom of the front page and ask them for assistance.

Please understand that moderators do not have to be neutral in conversations, they have opinions just like you and me. They do not get paid and volunteer their time to help with the site, so there is no reason they should be muzzled on topics they would like to discuss.

These are the duties of the moderators:

They keep threads and posts in the right places.
They monitor threads and listings for violations of the rules listed here.
They edit or delete posts when needed, i.e. profanity, name calling, etc.
    They ban spammers.
They issue temporary bans for constant rule breakers or general troublemakers.
They now may issue permanent Bans if the violation calls for it.

Please respect the mods, they are just doing what I ask them to do. If you have an issue with a mod just send me a PM, don't go and tell them to "f off," that's just uncalled for.

You may or may not be notified if action or actions are needed to be taken. Moderators and Administrators have the final word. If you have a problem or a complaint, send the Admin a PM and discuss it with them. Disrespecting the staff on the open forum or in a PM can and will get you banned.

    A note on FREE SPEECH:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The First Amendment is greatly respected here, as are all other Amendments that the Second Amendment defends. Florida Concealed Carry is not listed in the Bill of Rights. We are, however, a privately owned venture and as such, your freedom of speech does not grant you a right to post anything you may wish to say on this forum. These rules are a contract you agree to when you become a member of this forum and members are expected to adhere to them. Those who err cannot complain about censorship, or a perceived loss of first amendment rights. If you do not like our rules or feel you cannot follow them, seek out a new venue to frequent, or start your own.

    Trading Post / Classifieds

You may post as many items as you would like in the trading post. You may also put as many items in your post as you would like. I would recommend separate listings for each item, but it is entirely up to you. You are allowed to relist your items every 72 Hours.

If you think you have sold your item and it falls through, you must reinstate your old ad until the original 72 hours have passed. I understand the frustration but please understand we have no way to tell if a deal fell through or if you just wanted to relist your item early.

AR Lowers can be listed in either Handguns or Rifles, but not both. Complete AR uppers can be listed in handguns or rifles, whichever it is. Incomplete uppers and all parts for lowers go in the Ammo, Accessories, Parts, Etc. section.

All items listed must be purchasable without going to another site. For example: Don't list a gun with a link to Gunbroker.

All items for sale must actually be available and not "on order" from somewhere. (excluding Forum Vendors)

Businesses are not allowed to place items in the classified area unless you are a forum Vendor

Reverse Auctions are allowed, but the reduction in price must be in increments of at least $5 for items under $500 and $10 for items over $500.

Personal reloads are not allowed to be sold or traded on the site. (Commercial reloads are fine.)

No misleading ad titles, such as "Free Gun" and then the ad says "must buy the holster for $500." Also included are titles like "Glock 18" when the actual item is a Glock 17.

Please refrain from excessively bumping your ad when there is no new information to add and nothing has changed.

Do not make negative comments in other people’s threads. Repeat offenders will be temporarily banned and then permanently banned. It gets really old reminding the same users over and over to keep their comments to themselves. Everyone is allowed to ask whatever price they want for their items and it is their problem if no one wants it for that price. Also, do not hijack people's listings. If the post starter is actively participating in the conversation in their own listing that is fine. If you have activity that is unwanted in your listing please contact a moderator to clean it up for you. (Posting a factual problem with the ad is fine and not considered a negative comment, an example is someone listing a Glock for sale but they have a picture of a Sig)

No Raffles in the classifieds, they can be listed in "Steals & Deals" if they are for a charity/non-profit.

If you list an item for a friend you take full responsibility for the deal as far as feedback is concerned, if it goes south then you get hit with the negative. We suggest not selling for friends and just help them create an account of their own.

Listings for alcohol and pornography are not allowed. This is a classy place!

All items listed need to have some sort of value reference point. This can be a ballpark value, possible trade interest, etc. Just something to serve as a starting point for everyone interested in your item.

If your item is listed as "For Sale Only" you must have a price listed.

If there is suspicion that your item may be stolen it will be taken down and you will be asked to provide proof that you legally acquired the item. If you can not provide proof then you will not be allowed to list that item again. This is mainly for items that are suspected to have been stolen from a military base.

If you have a handgun and want to trade for a rifle, the listing should be in the handgun section. If someone is shopping for a rifle they do not want to see a bunch of handguns in there, it defeats the purpose of having separate areas for types of guns.

It is the buyer’s and seller’s responsibility to be familiar with all local, state, and federal laws when considering buying or selling a firearm. It is the parties involved in the transaction’s responsibility to make sure all laws are followed and all items are as represented before they take part in a transaction with someone else. Florida Concealed Carry can accept no responsibility for mis-represented items or items not being delivered after payment. You use this site at your own risk so please be careful.

When your item has been sold or traded please edit the title or the first post in your listing to say sold or traded.

And now, most important rule of all, If anything is listed as a "zombie slayer," or anything similar, and fails to perform as such during a zombie or alien invasion, you will be banned.

    iTrader

The iTrader feedback system is a very important component of your reputation. It represents in a score, and in comments, what others think about how you conduct yourself during transactions. Feedback can be given for any deal that at some point is considered by both parties to be a “committed deal” and can be positive, neutral, or negative.

    • Positive means you were pleased with the overall transaction.
    • Negative means that someone backed out of a “committed deal” or an item was misrepresented in some way. (Must be provable)
    • Neutral is used for ratings that are currently under investigation or for rare circumstances where neither a Positive or a Negative seems to fit.

    Definition of a “Committed Deal.

A Committed Deal is when the following terms have been finalized and agreed upon by all parties involved in the transaction.

    • Price of item (if it’s a purchase and not a trade)
    • Items included in transaction (What accessories, ammo, etc are included)
    • Time and Place where transaction will be completed.

It is highly recommended that when you have gotten all terms worked out you send a confirmation PM that lists all the details of the deal and then save the response you get. This way if you need to leave a negative later the details of the deal will be indisputable by the other party. This also covers you for deals where the details were worked out on the phone or over email/text messages, as they are not “admissible” in itrader court

For the sake of itrader ratings, an “I’ll take it” means nothing without a committed deal. (But the community frowns upon backing out of an “I’ll take it” situation so please do not use that phrase lightly.)

If you have a question or a problem with a negative rating you can send a private message to myself or a moderator. If someone commits to buy or sell an item make sure you hold on to any private messages until the deal is done and everyone considers it final. If the agreed terms are not in PM's then there is nothing we can use to verify anyone's story.

In the event either party disputes a negative then an iTrader administrator mod can delete or change the negative based on the facts in the PM's. If that doesn't finalize the situation then the facts may be posted in iTrader Court. In that situation relevant PMs are posted (names and other identifying information is hidden/deleted) and each party can post a short summary of their thoughts. Site members can then express their opinion in the iTrader thread and vote in a poll for positive, neutral, or negative.

Remember that rules can't cover every situation and disputes can happen. Here are some good practices that should help you get positive feedback and avoid problems.

    • Do not commit to buy/sell/trade an item if you are not serious about it and fully prepared to live up to your word.
    • Fully disclose everything you can think of in your ad or your offer, including, an accurate description of the cosmetic and operating condition, accessories included, and actual representative pictures (not factory shots).
    • Stipulate if your sale/purchase/trade offer is subject to in-person physical inspection, will require a bill of sale, drivers license or a carry permit. If you are making a trade offer it's helpful to send a link to your ad or representative pictures of your unlisted trade offer in a PM. Communicate with the other party clearly and fully, then confirm final agreements via PM.
    • If either party decides they want to change the 'committed deal' then they can't leave the other party negative feedback...but...they may be subject to a negative.

Example of a deal confirmation (especially after non PM communications):
    Hello again
    Thanks for the conversation/emails/texts.
    Here's what we agreed to:
Glock 17, Gen 4 with 3 mags as shown in my ad at a price of $xyz cash
You confirm you are qualified to legally buy/own a firearm in GA and will you show your GA DL?
Meet at the Waffle House at the xyz exit of I-285
    This Saturday afternoon at 4pm
I'll be in a black Jeep Wrangler
    My cell is 770-555-1234
When you reply with your confirmation I'll mark the listing SPM (sold pending meeting), TPM, or SPF
Please let me know if you have any questions
    See you then

FWIW, the training information and promotion IS what many folks look on this forum, together with legal information. The bickering and argument is just decoration and fun...

Also hope the mods don't go overboard trying to civilize the discussion - the chili needs some spice - and we all need thicker skins
