I'm a minimalist, so I have 3 guns, but I wish I had more. My Glock 45 (duty weapon), my wife's M&P Bodyguard and my (first CCW handgun) Taurus G2C. I know, it's a pathetic collection for someone in Law Enforcement (Just graduated the Academy in October). Being a minimalist has helped me save money, but I wish I could've bought just 2 more items before this whole thing started! Besides GT Distributors, does anyone know of any gun stores that have deals for LEO's and still have a good stock here in FL? I have plenty of ammo because I go to the FOP range a lot, but what is plenty compared to nowadays standards with this pandemic? Where can I get an inexpensive shotgun or AR15 for home security?
Don't know where you are. If near the Daytona area try Florida Gun exchange. North East Duval area try shooters of Jacksonville. Gun exchange may do glock blue, not positive.
Hmmm... what does that tell you, when a COP is compelled to "prep" by the current situation?
I've been telling people (PRIVATELY) that the $hit is about to "get real." The vast majority of people do not have a month's worth of expenses in savings. I figure we've got 1 week.... 2 weeks MAX... before people run out of money to feed their families. That's when they are going to start TAKING what they need.... by any means necessary.
I've got one. I haven't shot it much, but it seems like a nice rifle. It's missing some of the hard chrome one might find on some of the higher end guns, but if you aren't going to put a lot of rounds through it, probably not an issue.
Welcome from Lakeland, Buds is probably going to be the best price if they have any left. If money is a big deal in a month there will probably be a lot used for sale never fired cheap.
I don’t know if you’re serious or what policy is.
I just find it strange he’s asking us where he can find an AR when Caleb posted three links he probably found in a couple minutes?
So the Op has time and would rather start a thread on a gun forum asking where to acquire something. A thread in which he’d have to check back in on and click links posted. Instead of using google or simply going to gunbroker? Just seems weird IMO.
He only has 16 total posts and until yesterday, hadn't posted in 14 months, since 10 JAN 2019. Yes, the start of this thread was a bit strange and I'm watching how it develops . . . opcorn
ALL his previous posts were in one thread he started when he joined.
Caleb and Racer I understand your points. But you also want me to believe this Leo doesn’t know a single other one who could have helped? Has no friends?
Weird is the word I’m sticking to.
Shark I knew what FTO stood for. But since I’m not one and this is the day of big brother I wasn’t sure if you were serious or not?
I know a couple and they are not “gun guys”. All they own is their duty weapon. When SH happened and the panic buying hit, they were asking me where’s the best place to get xyz. At first I was confused (them being law enforcement and all) but, they were truly clueless. It is what it is.
What did non gun guy/gals do before the internet and forums? They asked a co worker that was a gun guy/gal. I didn't have the luxury of the internet when my buying started, so I bought a 1911, a gun I'd been trained on by the Corps/ It's okay to ask here, but what surprised me is the OP not asking other brothers he knows to be gun guys/gals :grin
