5#'s of rice, big box of Quaker Oats, 2x 12 packs of power bars, 3 extra cans of cook fuel and I can hunker in place for 6 weeks. Need water for the first two, water isn't going to be shut off and my Brita filtered water is used exclusively for drinking or cooking. If electricity goes down, I have my camp stove and can still cook up that rice and make the oatmeal.

Bet some didn't even think about buying a small camp stove and several extra cans of fuel to cook with should worse come to worse. I bought the stove for my trip north to the arctic circle and back in 2018 so I could have coffee in the morning. BTW, the stove will boil a canteen cup of water in under two minutes. A big pot of rice in under 5 minutes, the oats in 45 seconds.

I'm still making the grocery store weekly, but should it turn further south, I am capable of hunkering down fairly comfortably on rice, oats, and power bars. RVN gave insight into how the enemy could live on a ball of cooked rice [ and hump long days and fight ] the size of your fist for a week.

    Mike,
Recipe for the best Ramen Noodles:
2 Cups of water - (bring to a boil)
1 teaspoon of Chicken bullion powder (add it to boiling water first and then put in the bag that came with the Ramen)
Get some caned chicken breast or Frozen slices to put in the soup.
Add noodles and stir for a a minute and then add the amount of chicken you want for the last 2 minutes.
Poor into the bowl, add a dash of parsley to make it look nice

This is one great 3 minute meal

I have a butane camp stove with eight canisters.

Also have rice, beans, oats, dehydrated milk (and frozen gallons), and protein cookies.

But yesterday I ordered takeout from our surf club president's local restaurant. Gotta support the locals!
