Having Committed a Faux Pas I'm Here to Make Amends

Greetings to fellow Floridians & Concealed Carry License holders. I've been chastised for not entering this forum the "proper" way. So. please allow me to make amends and properly introduce myself.

My name is Lance. I'm a certifiable "old guy". I've been shooting both long and hand guns since 1951. I'm a former Marine who, on Sunday, November 10, celebrated both the Marine Corps and my birthday. (I'm 166 years younger than the Corps.)
(And on Monday, November 11, I posted on another forum, to all veterans, of each military branch, thank you!)

I completed boot camp at Parris Island in Sept. 1958, served six years on active and reserve duty, including 14 months as the radio operator for a small Naval Gunfire Forward Observer team based on Okinawa. I was honorably discharged from Quantico, Virginia in 1964.

My professional career has taken my family and me to many cities and states in the northeast, midwest and Virginia and Georgia. In 2000, my talented and beautiful wife and I retired to southwest Florida and I've been a Florida CCL holder since arriving.

One of my pastimes is my modest collection of original, numbers matching, non import marked, WWI and WWII military handguns. Also some WWI and WWII military memorabilia. I also have a modest assortment of "modern" pistols and revolvers, in most calibers and enjoy my weekly range visits.

I hope this "introduction" satisfies the "powers-that-be" and look forward to participating in this excellent forum.

Great introduction and sorry you felt chastised. That was not the intent but we do like to get to know the new members here. With your vast experience, especially with collecting handguns from the World Wars, I predict you'll be asked for advice from members here, particularly from those whom also love collectable firearms. You might like to check out some of AFJuvat's threads on his exquisite restorations of historical firearms in the Firearms Chat section. Finally, thank you for your service, Marine! Once a Marine, always a Marine and of course, there are lots of Marines on this forum. Again welcome to FCC! :beers
