The knife that costs as much as a gun

A knife nut friend of mine sent me a link to an EDC knife over which he was salivating. I'm not hating the knife nor the price. From everything I've read it is a quality tool. I also understand that there are instances where you simply cannot have a firearm and the only viable option is a knife. However...Dayumm, for me this is way beyond EDC functionality. I would be too scared of losing the dang thing and end up not carrying it.

Check the other threads in this section. There are lots of knives that cost way more than a typical EDC handgun and several here that are no stranger to expensive high quality blades, fixed or "broken."

$335? Yeah... that's not an expensive knife. OK... it's not "cheap," either. But, it depends on your perspective.

Mind you, I don't own any at that price range, though I've got several that exceed $200. And, I have carried them.

But, I know folks on here that have knives worth multiples of what that knife costs.

This is a pretty nice knife for less than a third of the cost of the knife you posted:

I’m not saying it’s as good, but it is a very good knife and can be customized for a few bucks more if you wanted black scales. Comes with a kydex sheath.

I am curious, though, about which situation would allow carrying a knife but not a gun?

Carrying a knife avoids the 200.00 tax stamp for quiet
