Publix is latest retailer to ask customers not to openly carry guns

Florida-based supermarket chain Publix is the latest retailer to ask customers not to openly carry guns in its stores.

“Publix respectfully requests that only law enforcement officials openly carry firearms in our stores,” the chain said in a statement.

Publix stores are all over, not just Florida, but I think most of them are in the SE United States.

T.V.News here in N.E. Florida stated Publix wants people to not bring guns into their stores. Nothing about open carry.
I also read (news) the open carry only elsewhere.

That's not going to stop me from shopping at Publix...or any other merchant for that matter. I find asking customers not to open carry to be about as objectionable as asking customers not to come into their stores carrying a bloody axe and wearing a clown mask.

The idea that we are ever going to acclimate the public to seeing non-LEOs openly carrying firearms in public as normal and/or non-threatening is delusional.

I have "NO" problem with any store that does not want people walking around with firearms displayed.
I am a gun owner and carrier and I would not feel good with some idiot walking around with a displayed gun.
I'm on the side of Publix and any other store with this policy
It is a 100% proven fact that some people are very afraid of a gun, When an open carry person pisses them off through "FEAR" they just jump on the bandwagon to be a Bloomberg puppet and go for more un need gun control crap.

You really need to stop calling those of us who prefer open carry idiots. That is classic FUDD language. I just took an RV trip to Montana, and the only state that disallowed open carry was the backward state of Florida. I carried everywhere, including businesses and to Hickock's grave, and no one ran in fear nor batted an eye, therefore your premise is false
